    33w OB Appointment Update

Pretty boring - i'm 33w2d, belly is measuring 33 exactly (only 1cm up from last appt which was 2 weeks ago but doc didn't seem worried so i'm trying not to either). Doc says he thinks the baby will be good size, but I have no idea what he is basing that on - says she just feels big in my belly. We shall see! BP is good, gained 3 pounds which i'm not happy about for 2 weeks, but at this point, i'm done worrying about it! I asked about the swelling (really bad in my ankles and feet) and the extreme pain in my hands when I sleep and he basically said...nothing you can do about it! Oh well - only 5 weeks and 3 days until my c-section! I just keep telling myself it will fly by! At the end of the appt he said "I hope you have everything ready at home b/c we are really close" That made it a little more real thats for sure!! I sure can't wait to meet this little lady!

Hope all my September ladies are doing well!

Heather, I am so sorry to hear about the pain in your hands! I have it too, and it's excruciating most days, and especially nights. What helps me is soaking them a while in lukewarm water before bed. The outside water pressure pushes the inside water out and away from the cells in your hands so the pressure on your nerves will be less.

In extreme cases, I take a tylenol, which sometimes helps. I also have put a special pillow in the bed just to lay my hands on, so that they stay level and straight during the night, and it helps. I now so feel for people who have recurring carpal tunnel in normal life and not pregnancy related, brrrr I never could have imagined how horribly painful it is but I know now!

Sorry about the weightgain, BUT, this is when she is growing and gaining weight hand over fist, PLUS it's the time you start retaining all that heavy water! As evidenced by your swelling. And soon she will start going down and you will be able to eat and breathe better again! Of course the pay-off most likely will be that you will have to pee more often too, our poor bladders

You are right, we are so close now! These last weeks will fly too! Will you have a baby shower? Some last fun things to go do with DH while you still can as a couple?
    You're almost almost there!
