Smile Another update and an induction date, if we make it that far

Busy day today with a peri visit and scan in the AM and OB appointment in the afternoon. All went great though!

The u/s went well, he measures exactly at the 50th Percentile for
gestational age, at 4lbs., 8 oz.
So far so good therefor! That is the main concern now, that he will grow
too large, so the fact that he is right at the 50th for now is excellent. I
am doing my bestest with the diet and insulin to keep it that way.

All organs looked good, as did bloodflow and amniotic fluid levels.
AND! For the first time he was head down! Yay! Smart baby! Stay that way!

At the OB appointment everyone was pleased with the way everything is
staying well-managed for now: weight, sugars, thyroid, swelling,
bloodpressure, which was a little high but still acceptable, she said.

She did stress that in babies of diabetic mothers the maturing of the lungs
is behind schedule, so that it is important that we try our best to keep him
    put as long as possible.
We will have Monday appointments with the OB from now on, which will
include NST's. Then on Thursdays or Fridays (pending their scheduling) we will have our appointments in the hospital with the Peri and for scans, so everything can stay closely monitored.

And, in case we make it that far, she scheduled an induction date too:
    Sunday, August 28th.
The day after my birthday That would make for an exciting weekend!

    So, that's where we are.

And here is the scan picture. He had his hands folded by his right cheek. It was so cute

Six more weeks from sunday! It helps to have a finish-line in sight at
least, to make all the aches and pains more bearable!

What a great update! You have done an amazing job keeping that little bugger in there and growing right on target - and keeping your sugars in check! Yeah! Thats great that they were able to schedule an induction date for you - definitely gives you a "finish line" to look forward to!

    Keep those great updates coming!

You're doing a great job Tanja! That's excellent that he's right on the 50th %. And it's good that they've set the date for you - it's not too early for bub's sake but as you said it gives you a light at the end of the tunnel.
