    Smile Latest Quinlan scan pics

Here we are, from yesterday's hospital visit, at 29 weeks, 5 days, with all good news for a change:

he now measures approx. 15 inches and 3lbs., 3 oz., still a very good "average" size for his gestational age, despite the diabetes. Amniotic fluid levels were very good as well, as were bloodflow through the placenta and through the umbilical cord. The Peri was also very pleased with the fact that the placenta has now moved up even more.
Heartrate was 156 BPM, and very steady and regular. It's always so amazing to see his heart, all four chambers, pumping away, there on that screen!

We will go back in a few weeks for the next u/s so they can keep a good eye on his growth proportions, but for now, based on this one, the Peri said "another 6 weeks maybe"

It was sooo nice to sit in the hospital without dreading horrible news, for a change!!

The scan was amazing. We saw Quinlan open and close his eyes, even rub one eye with his little fist! We saw him drink some of the fluid, wave his arms and fists around and in general somersault around and be very active, a wonderful sign, the Peri said. It was fun to feel him move inside, and simultaneously actually see him do it on the screen!

There was one moment where we got a close-up look of the bottom of his left foot, with all his little toes... That was an especially moving sight for me. Maybe because it looked like such a real little baby foot-sole already, the kind they ink on birth papers, don't you know? Yes, he is a real miniature human now! Amazing and moving to see! His hormonal and sappy mom had to blink away a little tear.

Here are two of the pictures, the first one is en face, the next picture is en profile, he has his little fists crossed on his chest and his nose poking the placenta

Not much longer now, and then we get to meet him in person!!!

    Thank you, Ladies!
Hah, yes Kim, I might just go as long as everyone huh? Now, if that is a blessing, in these temperatures we are having???
I might end up on my knees, begging the OB to take him out, as the dog days of August make me melt into a puddle...
