    28 week update

Well, for the first 6 1/2 months i gained only 2 lbs! (as of may 23rd) then... 10 days later i had gained another 10 lbs!!!!! wow, so i was very upset. but dr said my blood pressure was fine. ok, so then she tells me that at 27 weeks i was measuring at 30 weeks so i had to have another u/s and some blood work to look for reasons. on june 9th i went back to dr and she says at 28 weeks i am now measuring 34 weeks and i think gained another 4 lbs in a week. blood pressure still great! (first they said it was high then retested it and used bigger cuff and it was fine) . 6/10 i had u/s and baby was measuring at 28w4d, but i did have alot of fluid, u/s tech said it wasnt that bad though. so then i went for more blood work to see if i have an infection that is causing the xtra fluid. (results not in yet) yesterday i noticed my ankles were very swollen and i kept putting them up and still no relief. finally this morning i wwoke up and was able to see that i do have ankle bones there after all. now they are starting to sell again. so i took off work today (i am on my feet all day at work) and i plan to go to dr and try to get some answers. plus i want my bp checked again since i had rapid weight gain and swelling, i want to make sure everything is ok. also, i have been having bad pelvic pressure/pain. sometimes i wont notice it until at night when i go to lay down in bed and then it just hits me and it it really bad, dont remember this with dd is it normal?

    Tina,

The pelvic pain can be normal. My doc keeps stressing that second pregnancies are much harder on the body then the first because of the wear and tear you took the first time.

I hope that they weight gain is nothing.

well, i went to the doctor and i am now 29w and measuring @36. dr said that sometimes with xtra fluid it puts more strain on cervix so she checked my cervix and all was well. last night i had a non- stess test doen and in the beginning i had a few small contractions but then everything was fine. I now ahve weekly appts and weekly non stress tests, so if everything goes well i will be having my c-section on august 22nd.

Glad to hear you went to your dr., Tina! Poor you, I can only imagine how tired you must get, carrying the size of 36 weeks around.

Extra to you. I am glad you will have weekly appointments and stresstests so they can keep a close eye on things!!
