    Stupid GTT

Well, the results are in, and they are sad indeed: the results of the three-hour were far worse even still than the screening.
I think what they said was 235 after one hour and 205 after 2 hours.
But WHO in their right minds downs 100 grams of sugar in one sitting??? I mean!

Anyway, had my app. with the Endo this morning, got instructed on the use of the bloodmonitor thingy, the keeping of a log and making sure the levels stay below 120 after a meal, and all such good Gestational Diabetes stuff.

Bravely did my first solo blood prick and monitor this afternoon after my standard lunch and it was 90. Go figure that.

I am going to eat a good starchy dinner and see what happens after that!

I have an appointment wednesday morning with a dietician to figure out mealplans, as the endo said the things he normally prescribes there won't work as I am vegetarian. It will be interesting.

Here's too still being able to please please please Lady Dietician, be allowed to enjoy all the wonderful summerfruits!

Sorry to hear Tanja. I wonder why you were so high at the doctor and not at home?? Maybe if it stays down, you can stop checking after a while???

Well, I ate a good starchy dinner and that did the trick indeed: my sugar was 180 after that.
So I guess they are right after all, and I have resigned to poking. I meet with a dietician tomorrow to go over food options.
All for the best cause, we'll keep our eye on the prize and grin and bear it.

Tina, great to hear your numbers came back normal! When is your u/s to check on the growth?

And is anyone else suffering in the summer heat? Whew!

Oh stinko! I just read your post on the August board and came here to see what was up! Apparently your sugar levels...

Be a good girl and stick with the diet and hopefully you won't have to do the insulin!

I was really hoping the test was a fluke and you just ate too much candy...
