Well, maybe they are thinking of a theme

Like isn't Gwenyths kid named Apple?
So maybe we should go with a manly fruit....of which I can't think of any right now

Or like the Zappa's did with their kid...Moon Zappa...maybe name him after a constellation, or a star?

OR the ever popular name him after a city or state or country...personally, not my cup of tea.

OR if climbinchic and DP have the same first initial...maybe keep that in the family. Or make a word out of the first initials of all the names. If you did that to us...then we would be HALE or LEAH or HEAL...not that we did that on purpose or anything.

Still thinking about a manly fruit.

Or ROYALTY...William or David (also biblical)

Or Take a last name from someone and make it a first name

I could go on and on and on and on...but I won't

    Amy

Still working on a manly fruit. Any "down under"?

All I can come up with is Plantain.

    LOL - this is great!

OK - popular front runners from my (insane) family:

    Geronimo Nikita
Freddy Mercury (my BIL gets tears in his eyes....weirdo)

However - the criteria is that it has to sound good in both French and English (we're a bilingual household) and we are relatively conservative - so aren't leaning towards anything trendy. Last name goes to her, so I have trump card for the middle name.

    Boys:

    Benjamin William
    Thomas William
    Liam Michael

    Girls:

Emma Margaret (I know - a lot of Emmas - but its a classically beautiful name)
    Hannah Margaret
    Maya Louise

And kind of a cool contender (either way) is Cohen. I like it - but think I would lose out to DP's veto.

Vote away - we have a voting list on the chalk board in the kitchen - I'll add you to it!

One of the ladies at my work suggested Watermelon and Slobidam for my twins. I won't be taking them up so if you want them, go for it. Watermelon, because it is popular to call children fruit names, and Slobidam to have a politically correct cultural name!

I really like all of the names you've picked Climbinchic, but I'd be steering clear of the names your family chose!!

Since you're in Canada though, you might like an Aussie name hehe... Sydney, Adelaide, Matilda and Annerley could work!

Can you hyphen the last name? That's what we did...although right now I'm so sick of DP's family and their antics I wish we had NOT done that :-)

I thought you knew you were having a boy...but I guess not.

    My mom teaches 1st grade...
    She's run across
    Queenie
    Anastasia
    Derek
    Braxton
    Bryson

and others...but Queenie would translate to French, right? JK

I like hannah, but that's the name we picked for DD.

Lots of Roses and Graces coming from the U.S. lately.

My friend name her daughter Cecilia Rose. I think that is SO pretty.

We also went by what kids would shorten it to and what nicknames they could come up with.

    Benjamin William...Ben Bill

    Then there's Zeke...Zeke the geek!

    And Kaz...Watermelon...HA HA HA

And the update from the midwife is....

75% effaced and 0 (yes ladies and gentlemen - ZERO) cm dilated. Apparently I should get resigned to being pregnant for the rest of my natural life.

    Yeesh.
