It's all a bit of a shock at the moment - an exciting shock if there is such a thing...

When you transfer 2 embryos, the RE says its a 50% you'll be pregnant, and then if you are, it is about 10-20% chance they'll both take... I figured that would be about 5-10% it would be twins and based on that, the chances were minimal. But then I don't think you are really prepared for the ultrasound when one black circle appears on the screen and then when he moves the ultrasound 'wand' another one apprears right next to it! We got a nice view of both sacs side by side with two little hearts beating very fast.

Oh well, I wouldn't change things for the world. We now just have to make a whole lot of new plans... do we set up one room or two? do we need a new car (because will our car actually fit a double pram)? how long will I be able to work??? ohhh... yes, very exciting but also very scary!!!

Kaz!! I am so excited for you - congratulations! I can imagine that you must be in "happy shock" I've always thought that twins were really special - they'll never be lonely - I wish you and the twins so much happiness!

I don't post that much here but I had to congratulate. We have a six year old and twins who just turned three. It is certainly a life changer but I absolutly love having twins! They are each other's best friends and at this age they are less work than my singelton was. My dp is a twin herself and it has been bringing up some memories for her. We had only transferred two as well and I was absolutly (happily) shocked that both took. DP was not too happy about it at first but now she spoils them more than I do.
My twins share a room and love it. They co-slept with us the first year which made for easier nighttime nursing and with that a couple more minutes of precious sleep. I worked until 8 month but needed biweekly monitoring the last two month since I have high blood pressure.
My advice - don't turn help down when offered. I had a hard time accepting offers but in retrospect we could have really used it. Commit people for a day and time and use it to sleep!
    Congrats
