Donor Sperm Success w/ Natural Cycles

OK...total troll, I have a similar post on the IUI board.

I started to surge this afternoon and have to decide if I want to do a natural cycle IUI tomorrow. That or I wait 2 more cycles before I can start with Clomid again.

    Any experience? Anyone? Anyone?

Not sure what to advise...How old are you? Have you had fsh testing done? Clomid will cause you to release more eggs, but if you are young and already ovulating healthy eggs, why not try a natural cycle and wait on the clomid. How many times have you already tried?

So many factors to consider! Good luck!

31 (32 in a few days, so I'll post 31 as long as I can) - not sure what FSH is....but I had a battery of blood tests all indicating great hormones, natural ovulation, clear HSG...the CLomid was insurance - the clinic we use really pushes it. This will be number (gulp) 5....and my spidey senses tell me that the Clomid was screwing me up as much as it was helping (as in, timing hard to detect - lining thinned, etc). 2 of the tries were totally off b/c of timing in hindsight.

ok, like Didi said..so MANY variables and unanswered questions. You probably know, there is always the generic "unexplained" infertility...that screws many people up.

FSH is ..let me go back in my mind...tells you how fertile you are, in a sense, I believe. I know mine was OK.

How many cycles of clomid have you done vs natural? We did natural, no success, we did clomid, no success, we did IUI's with harder drugs (the shots) no success and finally IVF and it worked..but no real reason WHY it didn't work the other ways.

Clomid screwed me up pretty good...but it's different in everyone.

    Good luck to you

Well. Deed is done. Now there's no turning back from the tww! This time they've added some progesterone to the equation and a Beta on day 12 - so it won't be quite as treacherous. Also doing some acupunture - can't hurt, might help, keeps me busy. Post wash count was 8million - 3 million higher than last time.

    Tick, tick, tick....

    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

    good luck,

And for the record, there are research documents that show acupuncture before an embryo transfer in IVF has a higher rate of out come. - I did accupuncture for my IVF and not with IUI. The IVF worked 1st time.

so who really knows. Good luck and the accupuncture is relaxing

Hey rainbow...are you serious? There are documents that show acupuncture might help the outsome of a transfer? Just IVF or FET as well. What kind of study did they do? Was there any explanation as to WHY ?

Just curious, we hopefully will be doing FET late this year or early next

Best of luck during the wait! I've been there many times. Be good to yourself...go to a good movie....seek distraction!
