    Interesting Article in NY Times

My inlaws found this article and shared it with us. You may have to register to read it but very interesting about Donor Siblings.

    Thanks Eskie

I appreciated the read. It certainly is food for thought. Of course, I think of what if's all the time regarding contact, no contact. But had given little thought to sibling contacts. I suppose it would add a different dimension to Caileigh's life and sense of self and wholeness.

I'm interested to hear what others are doing or thinking along this line?

Well its a bit different of course....

We will be starting a birthmother search for Mia's bmom within the next year or so - this will, of course, include any siblings in Guatemala. We also know that Mia has another sister who was adopted about a year after we adopted Mia (don't ask - it about broke our hearts when we found out) We would like to find her to. We feel strongly that we want to be able to provide access for Mia to her birth family if she would like that.

We have paid attention to the registry to know that our DD has a younger sister registered. We also knew that our donor had had successful live births before we started.

At this time, we are just being aware and seeing if DD wants more information as she grows up. So far it has just been where is my daddy? She has accepted she has two mommas and isn't she lucky?... It is great to have a very accepting daycare that promotes all forms of diversity.
