    gyn/obs near work or home?

    Dear ladies:

I work in NYC, but I live in NJ, I think it would be easier for me to go routine checkups if my doc is near where I work, but then when I am ready to give birth, I have to travel a long distance to the hospital in NYC.

But if I choose a doc near home, I might end up taking too much time off from work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

Hi WNVX, I realize this may be silly question, is there a hospital in the middle between work and home? Then you could look for a doctor near work that also had privileges at that hospital. Or perhaps there is a hospital near home and an OB/GYN that delivers there and has an office halfway to your office? There may be doctors near the states border that have licenses and privileges in both NY and NJ. I think I would start by calling a few OB/GYN offices and seeing what they suggest.
