    Brushing Their Teeth

Ok I have been reading a lot from posts that some of you are brushing their teeth. How and with what? I don't brush dd's teeth and thought you weren't suppose to yet. She has 8 teeth and is getting 3 molars in should I be doing something?

I just started doing it as well. Ds has a bunch of teeth including his molars so I figured it was about time.

Evan has 7 teeth and I've been brushing his teeth since he had 2 teeth.
I use both the rubber finger brush and a baby toothbrush.
Usually I give him the baby toothbrush to keep him occupied while I brush his teeth. He loves to get in there himself, so it helps.
I also use baby orajel toothpaste w/ no flouride and is safe to swallow.

We use the Grins and Giggles toothpaste too. He likes to brush his own teeth with a soft baby toothbrush.

We also use the gerber toothpaste with the little blue finger brush. One of my girls loves it, the other doesn't. I got a pretty painful bite one day so now I just try to go fast.

    Hi

All my books that i read suggests to start brushing as soon as even a single tooth comes around. I have been brushing DS teeth since 6 months with a tooth brush. I use a toothpaste that is safe to swallow. He is now 18m and has 16 teeth so its easier cos its just the 4 molars left to pop up.

I brush in the morning and before bed. He used to fuss in the beg. He is now used to it.

I love the quote my old dentist had on his wall.... "Only brush the teeth you want to keep!" So as soon as they have teeth, brush! We use the rubber thimble and I stick it on the tube of baby tooth gel so it won't get lost or swallowed. I have an extra tube of gel so I never had to remove the rubber thimble. I always wash the thimble afterwards. I have been noticing staining now that we are doing liquid vitamins with iron. So now I am using a toothbrush for 1 year olds and up. I also started taking my kids 6 months after their first tooth eruption. Gets them used to the dentist.
