    Recipe for 'egg-free' cake icing?

Evan has an egg allergy. I manged to find an egg-free cake mix, but couldn't find an egg-free icing mix.

Anyone know a good recipe for one?
He's turning 1yr and I'd like to frost his personal cake so he can smoosh it everywhere, but just not sure about the sugar contents of these.
I also want to decorate it w/ his name, etc, so whip cream might not work.

    Suggestions or recipies?

buttercream without the eggwhites? I know I have made it without (forgetting) and it will stay in place for a while. Plus you really don't need it to last a lifetime he is just going to smoosh it...
I forget the quantities but it is just powdered sugar and vegetable shortening. Put some butter flavoring in it and coloring and no one will knw the difference. Check out the Wilton site they may have the recipe if not I can search for you

Here's my local bakery's recipe and it's pretty easy (but very sweet).

    1 cup of vegetable shortening
    1 box powdered sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 tsp. butter extract
    1 tsp. almond extract
a couple tablespoons of water to make it the right consistency

I've also tried cool whip with some powdered sugar mixed in to stiffen it, and it worked pretty well when I piped with it.

Kaden has an egg allergy and I've been buying Cherrybrook Frosting Mix....no eggs.
But you can also just mix shortening (I use Spectrum) or butter with powdered sugar, add enough milk until you get desired consistency (we use rice milk).
