    Romantic decor?

How do you create a "romantic bedroom"? Any ideas?

The first time we were intimate he had a few candles lit in the bedroom (on the dresser) and he had a pot pourri plugged in, and he had this waterfall dish plugged in so you can hear the water falling so lightly. It was perfect! Doesn't seem like much at all, but it was heavenly Lights off and with the candles just enough dim light and the smell in the bedroom was just beautiful!! The rest is history For me this was just prefect and oh so romantic for me!!

    Thanks for the response, Caligirl!

I am moving this week to a new place and I would like to give my master bedroom a more relaxing, peaceful and romantic atmosphere... In the past, my bedrooms have always been so boring!

The running water/waterfall idea is a wonderful one.. how romantic!

Reds, purples or soft blues tend to create a sense of romance. Candles sitting around always help, having 3 or 5 grouped together looks nice and gives a romantic glow. A vase of quality, realistic looking flowers can help. These are always nice to use because you can change them depending on your mood and season. For wall colors, if you want relaxing, sage green works well with any shade of purple. If you used red or soft blue, a pretty cream color works well. For your window treatments, if you live in town, you can get roman shades or just plain vertical blinds, and then purchase some inexpensive sheer fabric and curtain rods and drape over the top of the window. If you go to a store that has a lot of home interior fabrics, like Hobby Lobby, they have some really pretty fabric that is pricey but would look great for curtains. Also if your bedroom is small, a mirror will always help open up a smaller space. Soft, round pillows can help add a sense of romance and relaxation. A lot of people consider French style furniture as romantic, in addition to antique furniture like a canopy bed. If you have an overhead light, place a soft white light bulb to soften the room. If you have table lamps, keep the bulbs a soft white, 40 watt or below, or even pink to avoid harsh lighting.

Really it all depends on you, what colors you like and what style you are wanting. If you have time, go to a bookstore and just look through some interior design books to get ideas.

we had one of those little plug in fountains in our room for a long time and that was definitely serene. Catmom has some great ideas!
