    Pre Term Labor Scare Again

I had my second round of Pre Term Labor and my second round of Magnesium Sulfate at the hospital again this weekend. First PTL at 27 weeks 1 day; second one at 32 weeks 3 days. The good news is, as awful as the Mag is, it worked and I am back home agian (32 weeks 6 days today). Still on bedrest and OB increased my Procardia to 30 mg XT release 2x a day (up from1 x a day). I am dialated to 1 cm and my cervix is extremely short at .5 cm.

My OB is optimistic that we can still make it to 35 weeks. Each additional day from here is a bonus (or should I say an ounce, I think they gain about an oz. a day now). I am fairly convinced if our girls were born today they would be healthy and grow up fine but I would love for them to be able to come home with us after their birth so I truly am praying for 35 + weeks. (I did have the steroid shots for the girls lungs at 27 weeks.) The girls are doing great, no distress at all, and the u/s estimates they weigh atleast 4 + lbs by now. If we can keep them in until 35 weeks they should weigh closer to 5 + lbs.

Please keep my girls in your prayers.

    Thanks,

    bebe

Sorry about your scare! I'm so glad to hear they got it under control again! I'm praying your precious lil girls stay put for 3 more weeks. How exciting...it is only 3 more weeks! Will your OB take you off the meds to just let your body go once you hit 35 wks?
Take care and let us know how you are doing!

    Michelle:

My OB will not take me off Meds. until 36 weeks but I can not imagine making it that far. 2 more weeks to 35 seems like a year right now.

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

    How are you doing?

    Hey bebe,

you are doing GREAT actually! you're almost 33 weeks....that is fantastic! Yes, it would be wonderful if the girls didn't arrive for a couple more weeks, but even if they decide to greet the world soon, they will be just fine!

Hang in there honey!! I think you're going to be our first arrival on the board!

I'm sendin ya the two more weeks vibe!

    HUGS!

Okay listen here girls~!~ You just stay PUT for a couple weeks okay!
You are doing great! I am glad that they got it under control again. This just happened to my best friend last weekend too and she is back home again, one centimeter dilated and 50 percent effaced. She is 34 weeks. Her doctor told her the same thing, he thinks she will last another two weeks and that sometimes those little ones surprise you and stay put even longer. Either way,, you and your babies will do great!

Fingers and everything else crossed for your baby girls to stay in there for another 2 weeks. Good to hear they are doing well.

I am excited for you. Yeh, you might be our first June Bug delivery.
