    I need name help..

Ok.. we really want to use James in our baby's name.. it was my father's name. We were going to call him James David. Now we really like the first name Benjamin... so, maybe Benjamin James and call him Ben. Here is the problem.. his initials would be BJP.... the "BJ" could be a problem with teasing. Get it? Will kids pick up on that? What do you think? We really like the name. We are also considering Nathan James.. but are not really crazy about the possibility he would be called Nate or Nat.

I voted Nathan James, but then I read your post. I think you should go with Benjamin James as it's a name you both like! Ben is MUCH better then Nat! I also don't think the BJ will catch on. You really don't use the middle name much. I was thinking the same kind of thing though, with possibly naming our ds Joshua Robert...JR. It makes me think of Dallas! Intials can be funny. My 7 yr. old ds is RAD...he likes it!

Good luck and looking forward to hearing what you pick!

I vote for Nathan James. I believe that you two can set the tone for whether the baby's name will be shortened. I remember when my sisiter was naming my nephew Andrew, I was sure that he would become Andy or Drew but my sister was adamant that everyone call him his name. It worked, no-one ever shortened it.

Good Luck, at least you are nearly there.

Out of the 3 choices I personally like the way Nathan James sounds together. I would make sure that you always stress that his name is Nathan and not Nate! As far as the BJ thing I don't think that kids will really have much to say about that.......I could be wrong though. I went to school with a guy named William Jr. and BJ was what everyone called him including his parents. I don't recall anyone ever making fun of the name though. Chances are alot of kids won't even know his middle name anyway. So, if you like Benjamin James the best then I would go with that one. Good luck!! We are still in middle name limbo!!!

Though I love the name Nathan, I think you should go with the name you like best, Benjamin James. It is not as if your last name is James. How many kids will ever know his middle name anyway?

I love Benjamin James. It really flows well together.

But like others have said, you have to go with a name that you and Dh really like and feel comfortable with.

I voted for Benjamin James as well...it has a great flow and it's not as common as Nathan.
Unfortunately there is no way to predict what your child will be picked on about. I worry about this so much...I think it's going to be harder on me than on my girls when it happens. You just want to sheild them from anything like that!

I personally like Benjamin James.. I like Nathan too though. I wouldnt worry to much about the shortning of the name. I mean,, only my close freinds know my middle name.

OK, I'll admit it...I'm not sure what you mean about BJ teasing. I know I'm missing the correlation. What would the BJ teasing be connected to?
