If so, where are you giving the injection where you aren't completely bruising or in terrible pain? My RE suggested switching from abdomen/belly to buttocks/thighs. So far, the buttocks aren't bruising but it really hurts when DH gives it to me. I'm running out of spots on my stomach that aren't bruised.

Just wondered if anyone else had that problem or how it was going for them.

I was on heparin and just went off of it last thursday. I always did the shots in my abdomen but I definately was bruised and sometimes had small knots in the places where i did the shot..i just always went for the place in the abdomen under the belly button that was the least bruised.

how long do you have to take it for?

I'm on it till 36 weeks. Maybe under the bellybutton is good, the nurses always went there and it never bruised. Sometimes I just can't even get the needle to penetrate my skin though.

I'm on lovenox (which is low-molecular weight heparin). I only give the injections in my abdomen, but I just alternate which spot I put it. Some days the shots hurt more than others, and sometimes I bruise and others I don't. I haven't figured out the trick yet.
