Is your garden full of weeds this time of year?

August is the monsoon month in my area and we have gotten way more rain than is even usual for this time of year (which is great because we really need it). But in response, I have THOUSANDS of weeds in my garden! I pull and pull every time I go out there (that would be every day), but I will never be caught up on them. The good part is that the veggies don't seem to care if there are weeds in the path, etc.

If you wanna see some MASSIVE weeds just come visit our city and all the abandoned flooded houses. We have gutted our flooded house and not abandoned it as it's for sale. But it is a MESS trying to mow the lawn where a FEMA trailer is and there are cinder blocks and metal straps around it to tie it down. Dollar weed, prickly stuff, and some pretty tall thin weeds with tiny yellow flowers. The best time to weed is after a rain because they come up easily!!!

Just had a thought... why not pay the kids a penny per weed? They might actually have fun doing it-LOL!

And I just found out (I'm a little slow here ) the variety of weed that accounts for about half what I'm seeing is RAGWEED. I've never actually seen ragweed, but my palate, my nose, and my eyes would disagree.

I paid a neighbor boy recently to come over and weed my beds. Worth every penny. His parents are avid gardeners and he is obviously well trained.

yes, only weeds are growing in my yard. The real grass and flowers are dying because of the lack of water but the weeds are thriving.
