    My garden survived!

I was gone for a week and a half and returned to find only a couple of plants dead. My teenaged neighbor came over and watered once while I was gone, then again the day after we returned, LOL! My friend (the teens' mother) drove by and saw the same one car in the driveway, so pulled in, opened the gate, and watered things for me. She said she wondered why the hose had moved and why it was dripping on a grape vine. I had taken my van to the store and dh was busy in the house and didn't hear her, so the place looked as if we were still gone.

I thought about replanting the couple of plants that died, but the selection at the nursery is pretty slim now. Mostly tomatoes, but I think I'm going to have plenty of those anyway. Maybe my veggie plants will be so voluptously large that I'll be glad for the space between them.

Great news!! Nice friend you have that waters even when you are home

I'm a perennial flower gardener but I am trying three types of tomatoes this year---which me luck! Tomatoes are my absolute favorite food so I'm really hoping for a good crop.

Hope you had a great vacation!
