    heat tolerant flowering plants

    Hi everyone,

I was hoping you could help me. I am new to gardening (well not container gardening). It gets 90-100 degrees here in the summer...can anyone recommend a heat tolerant plant...preferably one which flowers?

    TIA

    Sharon

Are you looking for flowers that grow in the ground? Shrubs? Or plants?

lavenders would be my #1 choice for heat tolerant shrubs. They smell great and have pretty purple flowers. (Sea, English, Spanish, etc.)

This site has a list of Texas friendly flowering plants. Many of these are some of my favorites----Black-eyed Susans, coneflowers, sage, coral bells, colulmbines.

    Good luck
