    Need some picnic food ideas

Next weekend my nephews are driving up with my sister to stay us for the night at our cabin. We want to go on a picnic near a park a mile from our place. Any ideas for foods we can bring that kids would like and that is sort of unique?

We like to take wraps with us to the beach. They're basically just sandwiches made on tortillas - the adults eat them just cut in 1/2, but I always slice the kid's into little circles - they think they look like pinwheels.

The latest issue of Family Fun magazine has a couple of ideas for the beach that would work for a picnic, too.

    This one caught my attention:

    Chicken Club Pasta Salad

8 ounces corkscrew or spiral pasta
    3/4 cup italian dressing
    1/4 cup mayo
2 cups chopped, cooked rotisserie chicken
1 cup Muenster or Monterey Jack cheese, cubed
12 strips of crisp-cooked bacon, crumbled
    1 avocado, chopped
1 cup each chopped celery and green bell pepper
8 ounces cherry tomatoes, cut in half

At home, cook and drain the pasta according to the package directions and rinse it with cold water. Whisk the dressing with the mayonnaise in a large bowl, then stir in the pasta and the remaining ingredients. Spoon the salad into individual resealable plastic containers and chill. Transfer the containers to your cooler before heading out.

(Obviously, for a picnic, leave it all in one big bowl if you want!)

    I thought this was cute:

    Fish Sticks

    1 bag fish-shaped crackers
1 container spread, such as peanut butter, Nutella, whipped cream cheese, or cheese spread
1 bag pretzel logs or rods (or bread sticks, celery or carrot sticks)

Place the crackers and the spread in individual plastic containers, 1 for each person.
To catch a quick bite, just dip the end of a pretzel fishing pole into the spread, then into the school of fish crackers.
