    Dh's Shepard's Pie recipe

This was requested by some LA gals but I thought I would post over here for the foodies too.

This is from memory so it might vary slightly from the last recipe which was given out

1 to 1 1/2 lbs potatos for mashing
    butter
    milk
    salt
    1onion
    couple cloves garlic
1lb lean turkey, beef or buffalo (yes we have had buffalo but I didn't know until afterwards LOL)
    flour
    water
    soy sauce
    balsamic vinegar
    crushed red pepper
lb veggie combo (froz corn, peas, carrots or mixed veggies)

Brown the onion and garlic. Add the meat choice and brown it. Mix in 3 to 4 tbsps of flour to thicken with 1/2 to cup of water to make a gravy sauce out of the meat. Add 3 tbsps soy sauce and 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar. Red pepper to taste. Mix in the lb of veggies and the layer in the bottom of a baking dish say 9 X 12? Cover with mashed potatos and decorate the top with fork tine design. (dh prefers names) Bake 350' for 30 minutes or until brown on top.

    Enjoy!!!

S-has he ever experimented with greek seasoning in it? The one I made from that stupid magazine that I lost had it and it was delicious Just wondering if it woul dbe too much with the vinegar and soy.

And Lynn--yes, steal it from your dentist for me and you can even hold it hostage for the shipping that I keep forgetting to mail you

I just made Sheppard's Pie for the first time the other night. The recipe I had called for red sauce. Sitter had never heard of that; what did I know, it was my first time making it.

I cheated though on the potatoes - I used the new Country Crock ones. He, he, bad, I know. But it was yummy!
