How do you guys get through the growth spurts?

He is draining me dry! It feels like that anyway! It started today, and he wants to eat no lie like every 1/2 hour! YIKES!
I am doing the best I can to keep feeding him, but YOWZERS!
Thanks, and how long do they last?

They last just a couple of (LOOOOONG) days. Be sure you're resting when you can and drinking LOTS of water to keep up. Usually those growth spurts are soon followed by longer hours of sleep at night... good luck and hang in there!!!!

I had a few evenings when I'd fed him at least 4 times already and he was sucking so hard. I pulled him off and told DH I couldn't take it anymore. I pulled out some pumped milk and he drank 4 more ounces!!! That hasn't happened for quite a while, so I'm not sure if it will happen again, but he does "cluster feed" in the evenings still. The longer you BF, the easier it gets, you don't feel it as much and you have more milk. Nursing him is the best way to increase your supply.

Thanks guys... it did finally end in a LOOOOOOOOng sleep. He slept for nearly 5 hours! I just started pumping a couple days ago. Luckily I had some in the freezer, gave him that (dh did) and then b/f a little more and out... thank you!
