    Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch

For the past 24 hours it has been hurting VERY badly when the babies nurse. Cringing badly, like when you're first starting out! I was wondering if we might have thrush, since Joe just started a course of antibiotics. I haven't seen any spots in his mouth, but I'm keeping an eye out!
So this morning I got out the Neosporin, because thanks to our good FT friend Stacey, I know I can use it. I'm putting it on the right side and I see there are tooth marks over there! I don't know when it happened, or who did it, but I'm guessing that's the source of the pain on the right side! I don't see any on the left, and it hurts over there, too.
How the heck did one of those little sharks bite me without me knowing?!
I'm at work and I'm about to pump. Hopefully it'll hurt less than the nursing and my poor nipples will get a break!

It sounds like the pain when I had thrush while nursing Jillian. I'd get it checked out.

I saw your blog about thrush... I was checking to see if you posted over here... I was going to have you look for tooth marks (mine didn't always bite, but sometimes their teeth would rub) and also, sometimes you get that same pain when your nipples get chapped...I would use lanolin cream then...

on the teeth marks... neosporin will get rid of those pretty fast...

They're both going to the pediatrician for a follow-up to their respiratory infections tomorrow (and hopefully the 2nd half of their flu shots) I'm going to see if she'll check them out for thrush while we're there!
    Thanks!

It's thrush!!! She prescribed Nystatin but I'm supposed to use it on them 15 minutes before a feeding, and most of the time that I'm feeding them is in the middle of the night or the early morning! (They're in daycare during the day.)
I'm going to try and dose them up heavily this weekend.
    Sigh.

Be sure to treat yourself too!!!

During the day (when you aren't nursing) put Monistat or some other yeast type medication on your nipples! It will make them feel SO much better!

Also see if your Dr. will prescribe you some Diflucan.

And buy some acidopholis (for you to take), at least until Joe finishes his antibiotic. I take it on a daily basis! Or eat yogurt with live cultures.

Boil pump parts, binkies, bottle nipples and mouth toys for 20 minutes.

Wash your bras and breast pads in hot water and dry them in the dryer.

Hope you are better soon. Thrush is so painful.
