What to use for cold/congestion/sore throat?

Abigail & Caleb both have a doozy of a cold....runny nose, cough deep in their chest, congestion, and I believe sore throats. When Abigail coughed this morning she cried...the only thing I could figure was because it hurt.

I was just wonder what if anything I should/can give them. I bought some Infant Tylenol Plus Cold (or something like that) today...it says for fever/pain reliever, cough, and stuffy nose. I gave them some tonight, so I'll see how they sleep tonigh and how they are in the morning. I also bought some Sore throat chewy things (looks like jelly beans) but we haven't tried those yet.

Any suggestions on what is good to use for them? They are 14months/11 months adjusted, and both weigh around 20lbs. Just not sure what to use and what dosing. Of course, I was ready to take her to the doctor this morning (her breathing), but she got better as the day went on. I'm just so scared of RSV, especially since they were preemies. (they get 1st RSV shots next Monday).

    Thanks for any help!

We find that Children's Dimetapp works wonders. I am not sure if they meet the weight requirement or not but you can check the bottle before purchasing.

    I hope they feel better

Sorry, I may be a little late in posting, but we've been using infant Tylenol Cold and Cough & Cold since DD was 6 months old. When she's not running a fever or doesn't seem in pain from her teeth, we use Pedia Care Infant products. And, at her 18 month check up, we were told we could use Infant Robitussin. She's only 22 lbs and the dosage starts at 24 lbs, but we just lowered the dosage a little and it works wonders at night. It knocks her out so we only use the Robi at night, but we have a peaceful nights sleep. Also, when she's not real bad (she's already got bad allergies) we use a humidifier with Vicks in it. That seems to help a lot too.

I have used infant Robitussin and it worked pretty good. Aaron is getting a nasty cough too.

We usually use Pedicare. They have it with cough or without. Works great.

I usually don't give anything but straight tylenol or motrin. My ped doesn't really like to give cold meds.

Thanks ladies. I got some of the Tylenol Cold & Cough...since I'm familiar with the Tylenol.

I don't usually like to give anything either, but their cough is so bad. This is the first time I've ever given them anything for a cold.

Ditto on all of the above, but you might also try the suda care vapor plug in's. I use them for my trio when they have colds and they sleep so much better because their nasal passages stay open somewhat. I've even tried one night with (they slept all night and woke up congested but not completely plugged up), and the next night without (kept waking up and in the morning were completely plugged up), next night with the plug-in (slept through the night again). I now keep a week's worth of plug-in's on hand.

Another Pedicare user here also! It works GREAT! Also try using the Suda Care Childrens Vapo Plug. I use this with Hannah when she has congestion.
