October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    Hi Ladies--

Just doing my part here for everyone's health! The prognosis for breast cancer is VERY good when it is caught in the early stages, so please, please, please, do your self-breast exams and get your mammograms annually. I know some of you are too young to get annual mammograms, but no one is too young to do monthly self-exams. Don't be bashful--get to know your body so that you can be your best health advocate!

There--I've said it. I wouldn't pester you all about this if I didn't love you all so much!

    Hugs--
    GingerIL

Great post, and thank you for the reminder. I plan on starting my mammograms as soon as I'm done nursing!

    GingerIL,
Thanks from me too. I think encouragement by breast cancer survivors like you is the most effective way to get us to do our exams. Again, thanks!

Thanks for the reminder! I had my first mammogram scheduled and then I found out I am pregnant. I guess that it will have to wait until after this baby arrives.

A friend of mine gave me this idea a few years ago and it's a great way to remember to get your pap and mammogram. Give it to yourself as a birthday gift. Every year, in the month of your birthday, get your pap and mammogram! It's an easy way to remember when you last had them and when it's time again.

I actually have my mammogram scheduled for the 25th. of this month. It should have been Sept. but I have to go to a new place due to my insurance changing and they couldn't get me in until then. I do get my annual pap in Sept. too. Thanks for getting this out there and reminding everyone. This is so important.
