    Noah's 18 month check-up

I took Noah for his 18 month check-up today and my big boy is doing great! He's now 26 lbs 13oz and 34 inches long! He's over the 90th percentile for height and 50th for weight. Unfortunately, my little man had to get two shots today and that did NOT make him happy! Thankfully, except for flu shots no more shots until he's 4 years old!

I did express my concerns to the ped about his lack of progression in the speech department. The ped did not seem very concerned because he does have some words and his receptive language is excellent. He told me that if I am still concerned about his speech at his 21 month check-up we can call EI. So, for now I am waiting and hoping that his speech picks up in the next few months.

Noah sounds like he is developing exactly like the boys. He is such a little sweetie Meredith, try not to worry about the language although I know it is hard.

Sounds like a really great check up. You know, it's really hard when you have a chatty girl and then a boy. Marielle was SO much more verbal at 18 months than Rico. I worried a bit, too, about his speech progression. But, I know that he understands and follows commands and that Marielle answers for him at least half the time, so he doesn't get the practice she got.

Does Jillian answer a lot for Noah, too? Maybe he just gets tired of hearing mommy and Jillian talk and has decided it's a "girl thing"... I think that's what Rico thinks about talking.

Sounds great Meredith! He and Cam are the same height I think there is so much variation with language that it's too soon to worry. I am sure there will be a language explosion before you know it!

Great checkup!! Sounds like Noah is getting pretty big. Finn has his 18 month appt in a couple of weeks. I wonder if he'll still measure on track with Noah. I think Noah may have left Finn in his dust! LOL!

Wow Meredith....great update...Noah is doing so well.

I wouldn't be too worried about his speech yet....second children often speak later...the older child talks for them Just keep an eye on him...I am sure he will be talking up a storm by the time he is 21 months.
