hydrosalpinx unblocked 2 year ago now ivf

hi everyone im new to this forum ....so a little history about me im 26 and i had a hsg done to say both tubes was blocked maybe due to PID, so i have laparoscopy surgery 2 years ago had another hsg done after the surgery and another hsg done a few months later and tubes was still open after surgery, then put on clomid for about 4 months, so that didnt work now im going for my ivf and maybe starting in a couple of weeks time, but the 1 thing that was on my mind was would my tubes get closed or the fluid will come back, so im going to the fertility clinic in a couple of weeks time just to see what the nurse says and to give me a piece of mind and should i do another hsg, cant really see much online about this subject, and to be honest i hope she says it will be ok and they dont need to do the hsg again

    Welcome to FT!

I would insist on an HSG. If the hydros come back it can reduce your chances of success with IVF by 50%. The fluid from the hydros can leak back into the uterus and destroy beta 3 integrins in the lining. Beta 3 integrins are necessary for the lining to be receptive to implantation.

I have bilateral hydros and my clinic will not transfer until I get them removed.

I know of 2 people that had failure after failure, one even with donor egg, only to find out after several failed cycles that they had hydros. The hydros were removed and both were successful.

If you Google "hydrosalpinx IVF" you'll find lots of info on it.

Sorry, I didn't answer your question. I don't know if you can do the HSG during your IVF cycle. You would need to ask your clinic. My clinic would not allow it, but I've read some posts from others that did.
