    Will i ever get pregnant?

    Hi,

Im new to this forum so hope that you all can offer some advise. My husband and I have been ttc for over 4 years. I have recently been diagnosed with hydrosalpinx on both fallopian tubes and my husband has a low sperm count (doc says its not too low) The doc says that our only option is IVF. I really cant believe that this is the only option to us. Has anyone gotten pregnant before with hydrosapinx on both tubes. I feel so women-less

I'm so sorry to hear this diagnosis Unfortunately, hydro tubes emit a fluid that kills embryos -- this is why hydro tubes must be removed prior to doing even IVF.

Perhaps someone else will chime in with a success story though

Have you ever entertained the thoughts of adoption?

    ckkelly100,

IVF is rough, but it's not as scary as it sounds. Yes, it's an emotional and physical rollercoaster (not to mention the financial aspect if insurance doesn't cover it), but you would get through it. I did it three times and each time got easier (physically) and harder (emotionally). I wish I could tell you of a success story with your diagnosis, but I can only reitterate what Impatient said. If you decide to go forward with IVF, let us know and we will do everything we can to help you find the best doctor. Don't be so hard on yourself. We all need a little help sometimes.

    ckkelly100,

    Welcome to FT!

I am sorry to hear of your struggle. I have been there for 7 long years. I know the frustration of the whole process.

Impatient in VA is pretty accurate with the information, that is also what I have heard. The good news is there is away to still do IVF.

Have you met with an RE or just a OB at this point? REs are THE experts, the seem to KNOW everything and what options there are.
    Where are you located?

We are here for you for whatever you need.

I am so sorry to hear about your dx. I had the same one when I was 23 and it was hard to accept. I had my tubes removed at that time, but didn't actually go on to IVF until I was 29. (This had nothing to do with my dx, but rather my personal life.) Anyway, with the tubes gone we were successful with our IVF. So it can happen. Never lose hope.
