Blocked Tubes - Clip or Remove Them?

I'm new to this board. I'm 29 and my husband is 31. We've been TTC for about 5 years now. In February I had my first RE appointment and then underwent an HSG, which showed a bilateral hydrosalpinx. My RE said my options were to either remove or clip the tubes before beginning IVF, but he said removing them altogether would be my best option to get pregnant so that it would ensure none of the toxic fluid would leak into my ovaries.

Yesterday I met with my OBGYN who would be performing the lap surgery and she said that she recommended clipping them instead of removing them (she mentioned something about blood flow to the ovaries). I'm so confused because I don't know what to do and I'm anticipating lap surgery at the end end of July. I don't want to go through a cycle of IVF and have it fail if it's because I had my tubes clipped instead of removed. I guess I'm just looking to see if there was anyone else who had to make this same decision? Thank you.

Have you talked to your RE about your OB's recommendation?
After 2 ectopic's I had one tube removed and the other is completely blocked with scar tissue, although it is not hydro.
Personally, I would be inclined to follow my RE's orders (he is the specialist).
