Announcing the March of Dime Walk America 2001

WalkAmerica is the walk that saves babies. The March of Dimes biggest fund-raiser, WalkAmerica supports pioneering research and innovative programs that save babies born prematurely or with birth defects. Since its beginning in 1970, WalkAmerica has raised more than $1 billion to help give babies a fighting chance.

Where and when is WalkAmerica held?

Now in its 31st year, WalkAmerica is the first and best walking event in the nation, taking place in 1,400 communities in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Routes vary in length, but most are about 20 kilometers (approximately 12 miles). To confirm the date in your area contact the FT Team captain Heather Gerhardt at daisymae26@excite.com.

We are teaming up here at FT to help save babies. Who wants to join our team? Since we all spend so much time here on this website, I thought it would be a great way for all of us to get together and make a difference. Walk America is being held in cities all across the country over the next few months. I'm sure some of you have walked or at least donated to this cause before. Even though we would be walking in different cities we would still be bonding and raising money for a very good cause.

Although I will probably never meet the wonderful people who have become my friends here at FT. We all have a common bond that ties us together. Please consider joining our team and making a difference to so many babies born everyday with birth defects.
