Need Disney World Advice!

We will be going to Disney World April 23rd-27th, and then on the cruise the 27th-May 1st. We have done the cruise before, and its wonderful! But, none of us have ever been to Disney World. I have a silly question and would LOVE advice! Where to go, what to see, what not to miss, what can be missed etc..
My question is, we need to bring sunscreen, snacks and water into the parks, but if we are bringing a back pack where do we keep it while on the rides? I know it seems incredibly silly but I cant see how we can get away with no sunscreen all day.
TIA

I carried our backpack with us all day. It wasn't a problem on the rides...just keep it at your feet. I would loop one of the straps around my foot and it stayed in place. On one of the water rides (can't remember the name, it was in Animal Kingdom) they had a storage area in the middle of the raft for all the bags so they wouldn't get wet.

I carry alot of stuff with me(SLR digital camera bag etc.) you can definately take that kind of thing on the rides. There are also lockers at each of the parks.

Have a great time.

I really like http://www.tourguidemike.com for really detailed Disney planning - I've used it twice in the past year for two trips.

DH has diabetes, so a backpack was a must for us. It wasn't a problem to keep track of at all! Have fun! My biggest advice is... Don't just do everything to say you did everything. You'll run yourself ragged. Pick out what you really want to do and relax while you're doing it. If you're not really interested in the Peter Pan ride (for example), don't do it just because it's on the way to Small World. There is sooooooo much to do! Enjoy yourself! We had the most wonderful vacation ever.
