Newbie here!!! First IUI on May 12th
Hello all! I am 28 years old.....dh is 30....we have been TTC for 2 years. We are having first IUI cycle this upcoming Monday and I am very nervous. We had 5 days of Femera, 4 days of Menopur, taking trigger at 1am this morning, than Prometrium
Hopefully all goes well...I have one follie so far and another that was close to being fully mature (keeping fingers crossed). Anyone with any advice on staying positive yet not getting my hopes up too much.....hope all is well with everyone. I am glad to be new to the group

Just wanted to say good luck.
I'm a multiple IUI'er. My second was BFP so it's definately works if all the cards are right. I had a m/c and thus the multiple IUI's since but my nurse told me to try and think that's it's not positive and go about your business then when it is you will be only over joyed. I actually did that with my second one - and was over joyed. Since then though it's been hard not to hope and pray and worry. Keep busy and get lots of rest (sounds like opposites right - but one is good for you mentally and the other physically). Don't let the symptoms from the trigger shot drive you to crazy (they are like BFP symptoms). The IUI itself is generally like a pap. They use a speculum and small syringe type thing. You lay there for a period of time after. Some I have had cramping after and some not. I hope that you get that BFP!!!! Tricia |

Thank you....today was the day. My dh and I were very nervous...but things looked well. I have some cramping in my lower back mostly but I am just trying to take it easy. Thanks for all the positive energy I need it....I sometimes allow myself to be a pessimist and in this situation I need to try and be hopeful. Glad to hear you have has success....are you still trying now?

Hi,
I'm on my third day of injectables - I generally do about two weeks so should have my next IUI (6th) around Memorial weekend (about the time your tww ends!). Hope this is the one but like I said - my second one was BFP so don't give up if it's not. Number 3 & 4 I knew would not be positive (very low E2 and "o" early) but we did them "just in case" (why waste two weeks of shots). So my honest, 100% good chances of successful cycles - I actually have only had three and one was BFP - so not bad really considering. How big were your follies and what was your E2 level or do they tell you? I didn't know what it all ment the first time they told me - but learned as I went. Hope your feeling ok - just take it easy today! Tricia |

I am doing thank you...hope you do well with everything. They didn't tell me how big the follies were or anything like that but if I do have to do another cycle I am going to ask. Keep me posted how things are going with you....baby dust to everyone!

Hi Ladies,
My IUI is tomorrow. I had two mature follies and my E2's are decent at 767. Did my trigger shot last night and I'm feeling it today. dvjohnson3280 - Have you done an hpt or are you going to wait? Kramik107 - how are you? When do you test? Tricia |

I am trying to hold out with testing. I had some cramping last night and a little bit of spotting which naturally made me upset but nothing since last night. I hope that still means there is a chance for BFP.
Tricia-how did it go??? |

dvjohnson - You could be a late implanter so don't give up yet. It is upsetting though, I know. I had spotting my first four IUI's (the second was BFP though). Lots of twinges/etc. Did they do a progesterone number at 4dpiui? Are you on progesterone tabs? Are they doing a beta or are you supposed to do an hpt on Wednesday? I sometimes wish I could hold out on the hpt but I never can. My bfp I didn't believe but only took that a few days early. Since then I've learned I can do it earlier and it's all down hill from there. For me - it helps me get my mind around the results though so emotionally it works for me. Hang in there!!!
Yesturday went ok. I was extremely uncomfortable before we even got there - felt like I already had the IUI. Had cramping/bloating/&discomfort the rest of the day also. That's frustrating to me because I like to back up the IUI w/bms but there was NO WAY considering how I was feeling (sitting down hurt). That has happened for about half the IUI's I have had. The senior RE did it and was very nice and took her time. She said "There is one more drop" so waited till there was room to put in that last drop. Interesting for me, cause the nurse has done most of my IUI's and she never waits. When my RE did it (the BFP) he also took his time but that was only my second one and I really still didn't know what to expect. So I go in for my Beta on June 8th and get the results on the 9th. I will have a better idea after I get the progesterone results - praying for a high number. Hope your weekend is going ok considering!!! Sending +++++++++++ thoughts. Tricia |
