Overheating?
Not sure if this is the right place to pose this question, but I have a theory that may be completely ridiculous.
First a bit of background. DH and I have been married 3 years, TTC 2 years, diagnosis completely unexplained, had 5 failed IUI's, had first IVF cycle 2 months ago which ended in a freeze all due to OHSS. We're currently in the middle of an FET with ET scheduled in a week. Since I can remember, I have always had trouble sleeping when I'm the slightest bit hot. DH is also always hot, so we keep our bedroom really cold at night in winter and summar. Even so, I usually wake up in the middle of the night hot and sweaty. I know that hot tubs, hot baths, etc. are not recommended during pregnancy because raising your core body temperature can be dangerous to the fetus. So, here's my theory. Can high core body temperature prevent conception? Is it possible that I overheat at night to such an extent that my core body temperature rises and this either causes a fertilized embryo to have trouble implanting or to implant, but not survive? I plan on asking my RE about this, but I'm interested to hear other people's thoughts. Am I crazy?

I know what you mean about being hot at night. I always kick off the covers and turn on the fan, my poor dh freezes to death if he doesnt have his own blanket. My average temp during the day is only 97.4 as opposed to 98.6. Is your normal temp high usually? If it is you might be on to something.

Hope2be,
There is something to the overheating theory and failed implantation. In terms of immune issues and reactions that can be going on against a preg or conception. Many women who have failed IVF's or have unexplained IF or have chm pgs or failed implantation develop "fever-like" symptoms when an embryo is being attacked by their body. There are tests to be done to determine if your body has high level of natural killer cells which could be affecting implantation -usually the testing requires special labs such a www.repromedix.com -or some other docs that specialize in reproductive immunology. If you want to hear more come over the immuen issues boards here which can help you determine is this the profile you fit? Are there more ways to assist in conceiving with suppressant meds to "turn down" my auto-immune reaction? and other such answers... regards, Ally

I have been getting all sorts of testing done. I have a thyroid problem. My TSH is fine but I have antibodies against my thyroid. Thus somewhat of an autoimmune response. Please get checked for any immune issues. It's all treatable.
