I guess I am going crazy. After two years of BFN's I almost can't bare on. I have been in position at the doctor's about 50 times in the last 2 years. I was just recently "let go" from one (I live 500 miles away from the other one) of my RE's because there was "nothing else that we can do to help you. We have done everything in our power." That statement has been in my head since I heard it. When the Doc gives up on you.... what kind of hope do you have? I just don't know what to do next. Why is conceiving so easy for most, and then for the rest of us... it is impossible. I hate how people say to relax.... how in the world do I do that? I have spend thousands trying and trying and nothing has resulted. I take 7-10 pills a night depending on my cycle days.. and for what?

Someone....anyone understand?

hi , i am sorry your are having such a bad time! i see that you have used clomid. has it been for all 2 years? do you do iui with the clomid? also have you been on any injectables or have you tried ivf? i hope you find a doctor you can trust! see if there are any ob gyn's in your area that specialize in infertility. i live 50 miles outside of chicago and i know we have alot of RE's and i know of at least a couple of the ob gyn's that do specialize in IF.

Don't give up hope just yet.

I can't understand why an RE would say there is absolutely nothing else he can do. What have you had done in the last two years (IUIs, IVF, etc...) Have you tried immune testing? That is my next step.

With 11+ years of IF, I know I'm not exactly the poster child for "happy endings" (not yet at least - I still have lots of other tx that I haven't tried), but I can tell you that when you feel like you can't go on - you just do somehow. I pray that you don't have to endure this IF much longer and that you find a dr/RE that can help you and dh get your baby. Don't give up hope... I know it is hard and sometimes I feel like it myself (giving up), but try to hang on...

well

I have been on Clomid for 6 or so cycles and have been triggered by the HCG injection everytime. Also, we have used back to back IUI's since January of this year. My specialist in Seattle said to only be on clomid for 4 or 5 cycles so I a running out of options. The scary thing is that I have a great egg response to Clomid so they are afraid to put me on injectables. My husband has been clear with the male urologist here and now they want to "double check" by sending him to Seattle. They really just have no clue what to do with me. I have been on Metformin for 3 months... so what next?

Tiffany

PS thanks for great support

Tiffany,

I had taken Metformin for a while, but my body didn't respond well to it so I was only on it for about 9 months.

I would ask your RE about the immune testing. There is actually an immune forum on FT to get tons of info from. We haven't done it yet, but that will be our next step. I'm interested to see if they find anything when they test me...

I would consider moving on to IVF. There are SO many reasons that IUI may not work for you even if you respond well to clomid and they can control so many of the variables with IVF! IUI has about a 10% success rate each cycle.

I did 3 IUI cycles (most reputable RE clinics only advise 3 IUI cycles before moving to IVF) which all failed (we are unexplained too) before moving to IVF. We have responded crazily well to the injectables (30 follies), which our RE thinks is fine and are hopeful that this will result in lots of mature eggs and good quality embryo or blastocyct transfer next week.

Good luck! Please consider IVF!
