Can use some advice...

I just had my third failed IVF procedure after 5 years of actively trying to have a baby. My doctor claims there is no problem with my I am young, healthy, form amazing and strong embries from stim. He cannot figure it out. He just tells me to continue to try it again. I cannot do this again without some answers to where the problem may be. I asked about the Laporaskopy for endomertrios and he claims that it would not affect me even if I did have it because ivf bypasses that problem.

I am going to meet with him in a week and want to have some more ideas of how to approach this with aggression so he knows I want answers. Has anyone had similar problems? I can use all advice and suggestions please.

Thanks and best of luck to everyone!!!
Melanie

PS. I am also going for accupuncture treatments but they did not make the difference this past time. I even used herbs too.. ahhh frusteration!!! lol

Hi Melanie,

My heart goes out to you! How frustrating to have 3 failed IVF's, no baby and no answer. My first IVF resulted in a pregnancy and early miscarriage, but I still don't feel like I have a lot of answers either.

Have you thought about immune testing? Some women swear by this, especially for those of us that are unexplained. Was your RE able to find out anything from your IVF's? My RE feels like there may be a possible fertilization issue with us, we got great results from the drugs too, but not a high fertilization rate, even using ICSI.

Are there any other RE's in your area you could get a 2nd opinion from? I love my RE, but after our miscarriage, I flat out told him I wanted to know why this wasn't happening and what our next course of action was going to be. I wasn't being *****y about it, just firm and explained I cannot keep going through these emotional rollercoasters and if he didn't feel he can help us, please say so and I will move on one way or another.

If you haven't already tried the IVF boards, I would ask there as well.

Good luck to you.

Tiffany

Thanks Tiffany~

My previous ivfs were PERFECT according to my Dr. and he cannot imagine how I am not pregnant yet. I have decided to take a break for a while and persuit adoption. I think that I will look into getting another opinion and further testing and procedures before attempting again. Also I have 2 frozen blasts so want to try to use them after I have corrected the problem rather then repeating the same process with the same outcome due to no changes made.

Thanks for your time and support I appreciate it.
Here is a great slide show about our journey..you may want tissues nearby~

mel, I could not helpf to feel your situation. It is profoundly identical to mine. The only difference, I'm older than you.

Do you have endometrial tissue problems? If so, from my experience, my Dr. is one of the leading surgens in at field, he would always address that first. Did you have a Hyp.....gram (?) to this day I still cannot spell it. That was my first step. Determined the contion of my tubes, uterus and ovaries. Result no endometriosis but one block tube-scar tissue-tried to open it to no avail. Hense moved onto IVF. In the final analysis, my doctor attribute it to poor egg quality. Did 2 IVFs and several IUIs. No success. Moved onto DE. I did 3 DE with ICSI. Some fertilized some did not. My last DE worked. Pg with twins. However, only one fhb, but lost it at 9Wks. Not sure why? Test show a healthy baby boy. Like you, similar issue could be my fibroids--but doc says they do not interfere. Had MRI to see if there are some issues with that...no real answers. I know the problem is my body...something is not 100%.

Have been dissappointed, frustrated and just plain discouraged since last year. My DH wants to try again and I go from hi/low feelings. Will try another clinic and perhaps I'll get lucky.

A second openion would be my route...do as many consults with different RE as you can so you can get an overall picture.

Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

PS. I am thinking on doing accupunture and herbal treatment. What was your regimen?

Cak`

Hi there! I have had an HSG done and tubes are great. I produce great numbers of eggs and excellent quality. I have had the highest level blasts transferred the past two times and the first time I had 2 8-celled that were excellent transferred on day 3. This last teo times were day 5. I agree something is wrong and not 100%. I was asking this past time after the 3rd negative about a Laporaskopy to see if i have endometrios, but my doctor said that whether I do or do not have it is irrelavent with IVF, that it bypasses the problem.

I am not sure what the problem is, but believe it is implanting. M y lining has been great and strong. Around 9 1/2- 10 so clueless. I am going to get some more opinions and for sure more tests to find out where the problem is before trying it again.

Accupuncture is great and I believe it can help. I only started 2 months before my ivf procedure and they like at least 3 months before to be fully effective. I was told my uterus is on the cold side and that I had kidney dificiency and a few other minor things. It is not painful at all and was relaxing. The herbs were in powder form to get in my system faster..they were disgusting but I was willing to do anything to be pregnant. He mixed various herbs based on the problems he saw that week.

I am still going to continue with accupuncture and herbs and continue trying on my own for now. We are going to look into adoption and then after more tests and procedures we will try again a couple more times for 2 of our own also.

Good luck and please keep in touch as well.
Take care and best of luck on your next cycle.

Welcome Melanie
I can definitely hear the frustration in your post. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to be so "perfect" in your cycles but have no answers as to why you can't get pg.
I definitely think your dr. should schedule a lap. There might be something he's missing altogether. The one thing that struck me odd about what your dr. saying even if you did have Endom. it wouldn't affect anything. Endometriosis can be a big hurdle in getting pg. You might want to do a lil research on endometriosis on our Endo board here on FT. Click here http://www3.fertilethoughts.com/foru...splay.php?f=22
and that should help you find some answers or maybe run this post by the ladies there.
Good luck to you and if you really feel strongly that you want an exploratory lap, be firm with him. You really are your own best advocate. Good luck!
Jenn

One more thing! I would reccommend reading the book The Infertility Cure By, Randine Lewis. I thought it was excellent and easy reading. It is about how Eastern medicine and Western medicine combined can help solve and cure infertility problems.

Best of luck and I am praying for you.

Immune testing? What is that? How do you get it? It that what they mean when they talk about sperm allergies and so on?
