I'm so sorry about this! We are all in the same boat, so don't feel alone.
What are "all the tests" that they did? Sometimes even very nice doctors leave out an important test... Best wishes, Lauren

they have made sure my patners sperm count is ok and i am no good with termanolagy but i have had some ultrasounds to see if my womb and overies are ok they said they are my left overie is a little higher than my right they did a load of blood tests to see if i am ovulating and to see what my hormone levles are and they have put dye through my tubes to make sure they are all ok and not damaged
i guess the thing that gets me is they have not tried us on any medication or treatment and just want us to go away for another 3 years so if you guys have any advice on what i can try od say to the dr's i would be most greatful |

Welcome littlefrit and big
to you.Even if you are diagnosed as being "unexplained", they should still be trying some treatment cycles with you. Trying for 3 yrs to get pg with no apparent problems IS a very long time and i seriously doubt another 3 yrs will make a difference. What kind of doc are you seeing? A regular OB/Gyn or an RE?? I know this is probably silly to ask as i'm sure you've tried all you can on your end, but have you been charting your cycles every month? Doing BBT charts?? I would try, if possible with your insurance, to find a dr. who is supportive and helpful to you...not tell you to just keep trying. ![]() I'd look for a new dr. Just my opinion!!! Hang in there. I know ttc is not fun. Even though i have a living child now it took us a very long time to do so--over 5 yrs--and every year that i still didn't have a baby in my arms just added to our pain and hopelessness. ![]() Don't give up and we're here to talk anytime you need us. ![]() Jenn

Hi littlefrit,
Here are some things you may want to do while awaiting a different, better doctor. Look on the "alternative medicine" bulletin board for more options. * Avoid heating blankets and hot tubs. * Don't smoke or drink coffee. * Make sure that you are ovulating regularly and that there are at least 12 days between when you ovulate and when your period starts. * If you can find them in a store, eat "wild yams" during the first half of your cycle. Stop a few days before you ovulate. "Wild yams" are the natural equivalent of Clomid. * Take a teaspoon of plain Robitussin once a day for three days before ovulation. Stop when you ovulate. Plain Robitussin helps to thin the cervical mucus (just like it helps to thin nasal mucus... same idea.) * Eat the core of a pineapple after you ovulate, everyday for a few days. Pineapple's core contains some enzymes that apparently help an embryo to implant. * After you have sex, put a pillow underneath your hips and tilt the back. Stay there for half an hour. This maximizes the opportunity for your DH's sperm to get through the cervix, into the uterus, and begin their journey up the fallopian tube to meet the egg. Also, you may want to take fish oil capsules as well as baby aspirin and a multi-vitamin. Inform your doctor if you do this. I don't know if these ideas will help, but they are natural-type solutions and are certainly better than just waiting!! Good luck to you. Lauren |

Littlefrit:
DH and I are unexplained too (see profile). Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone and that we're here if you ever need to just vent and get things off your mind. It can be very frustrating (I Know), but sometimes it helps me just to get up on these boards and talk with ladies that know what I am going through... I know very few people in my personal life that have had true IF, and so these boards are vital to my sanity lately!!! Best wishes on your continued treatment... Hang in there! |

Hi Ladies,
I'm unexplained too, I hate being unexplained, makes me feel like a freak. How sad is it that I just want them to find something wrong so they can fix it?! I agree about the alternative medicine if you can't go to see a RE or have access to meds. I have heard acupuncture works, not sure how available that is to you. I am currently looking into it as well, to go along with current treatments from our RE. If you think finishing up college and moving to the States will help, then go for it! Not every company covers IF treatments. I am fortunate enough my DH works for a company that does or we would be flat broke by now. I love this site, it helps keep my sane when IF starts making me really lose it. I have learned a lot from so many others in our same situation. Good luck to you! Tiffany me 30, DH 38, TTC #1 - 18 months 3 cycles of Clomid and IUI, BFN 3 cycles of Follistim and IUI, 2 BFN, currently in 2ww with final attempt Next step - IVF |
