mmmkkk, what did the u/s show in your uterus? Your hCG is just inside the 100% confidence zone (hCG 1000 to 1500) for DX'ing a singleton uterine pg. Given the concern regarding an ectopic: my OB did not treat expediently (hCG < 5000) and treatment failed; I am sooooo glad your doctor is having you back within two days. Hugs in this difficult time.

TTC- Thank you, and yes I had two embryo's put in that were normal PGD. I had 4 tested and two were abnormal, so no frosties to fall back on

mmmkkk- The saga does go on doesn't it? It sucks we are still in such unsure states at this point. It definately brings new meaning to the 2ww doesn't it? Well it is very good that your numbers doubled, were they happy about that or what? What is your sac measuring time wise? Good Luck Sunday, let us know!

    Happy New Year To ALL!!

TTC - how did your ob diagnose your ectopic in the end? Did you have non doubling betas, or anything in hindsight that was a symptom? From what i've read, ectopics are very hard to diagnose. He said there looked to be 1 or 2 very small sacs in my uterus, but he spent 99% of his time looking at my tubes, ovaries, looking for free fluid, and asking me if I had any spotting or cramping. I asked him if things could be ok and he said "it's highly unlikely." I really just want to know what is going on at this point as it's kind of scary. He said my beta levels are way lower than where they should be.

Tam - this limbo land is really tough - I either want to be happy about being preggo or else mourn a loss and move on with my life. I haven't been told anything about the measuring time of the sac other than it's very small. My numbers are not quite doubling but going up about 80%. Will let you know how it goes Sunday and hope you're doing ok!

mmmkkk, my OB waited until they found the sac outside my uterus (7w, hCG 6000 still doubling normally) and as I said, it was too late. He might have diagnosed it earlier when my hCG was 1500 (low, but doubling normally) and my uterus was empty (6w) for a natural pg (singleton). Given the small chance of twins I was willing to wait until hCG 3000. A secondary indication was that at 5w my P4 was 6 (natural cycle, P4 <5 is non-viable). Interestingly, I had no pain at all (until rupture at 9w0d). In the case when multiple embryos are transferred, it's that many times more complicated, especially heterotopic pgs (1+ inside, 1+ outside). I understand that dr's don't needlessly want to treat with MTX or surgery, but they also don't have much time to make a choice. All that said, my vote is that your dr has identified the failed pgs (uterine) and that, if appropriate, a D&C and/or hCG will confirm. Although ectopics are life-threatening and worth consideration, they are rare.

    Hugs.

    Hi Tam,
Yes, I went on Sunday and the doctor confirmed that the sac is in my uterus, so FINALLY they have ruled out ectopic. But my beta only went up 60% (from 1194 to 1900 ish). I was in again this morning and my doctor said I can stop my progesterone and we'll see what my blood is doing, but this is an abnormal pregnancy. I go back in a week to see where my blood is at. At this point, I just want to move on with my life and I started back at the gym yesterday. Need to blast off this ivf blubber layer that i've developed.

Let me know how it goes with you today tam - good luck, although I know how hard it is to keep up hope

mmmkkk- I went in today, still just the sac there, Blighted ovum it is... Doc says I can stop my progesterone. They took blood to see what my Beta is doing. Honestly I would just like to get a D&C like yesterday. This limbo is awful, your complete life is on hold. I too will start my workout/diet as I have gained a ton through all this. It would be well okay if I had a baby to go with it, but alas, this time is not meant to be.

Braveface- Thanks for thinking of us, hopefully the snow has subsided up there. Your next ultrasound is right around the corner, happy thoughts for ya!!

Tam, I am sorry I am in the same boat. My blood came back at 3400, so still on the rise. It's hard to know that this little one is not going to be "the one" even though my beta is still going up. I go back in a week to decide on d&c or misoprostal but soooo want this to be over asap. I hope my body will start shedding this weight while i'm still preggo. Do you know what your next steps will be? I am not sure for us.
