Hello Everyone ! Just 1 question...

Hello All,

I have been lurking around this board for a few weeks and have been following your progress....Congrats to all that have got +++ results and my prayers are with anyone who is still trying !

Anyway,
I usually lurk at the PCOS board but I stopped the BCP and hope to be in the 2WW soon I have very irregular periods since I was 16 (am now 27). I have been taking glucophage for 7 monsth now to try and regulate them. I was on BCP during that time to allow the meds to work. I stopped the BCP at the beginning of Feb. To my surprise, I got AF at the beginning of March all on my own without provera for the first time in about 3 years ! Sorry for all the info but wanted you all to have alittle back round info ! Here is my question !

We are starting TTC this month...Last Wed I started spotting and spotted very very light until Friday when AF was in full force....My question is, what day is actually CD1? The first day I start spotting or the first day I had full on bleeding? My cycles on the BCP were 4-5 days and this month, it was heavy Friday and Sat and was gone by afternoon Monday which would make it 5 days starting from Wed.

Oh my goodness I'm sorry this is so long, I like to talk ! I am just so excited that we get to try again. I told DH that we should have BMS every day or every other day just to be safe and he was all for it lol....

Thanks for any insite !!

Hi Kristina.....Welcome to the board...
Well good luck to you ttc, I wish you luck and I hope you have fun trying. Hopefully it will work out for you quickly, without too much stress...
As for your question....when Day 1: Your period starts.
For whatever reason, Day 1 of your cycle is counted as the first day you see that telltale spot of blood. I hope that answers your question. I took that right out of a book, so it is on the money!
Let us know how you make out! (No pun intended....lol)

Hi Kristina -

I believe Keshia is right. I just wanted to say good luck to you. I also have PCOS and am on glucophage (metformin ER). I have had great luck with it. I have a 21 month old daughter and I am newly pg. I firmly believe it was the metformin that did it!!! I hope it works for you too.

Thanks guys so much for the replies, I will use last Wed as CD1....so hard to time things when you really only have a 12-24 hour window ! I think BMS every other day should do the trick...

Keisha, all my ++++ thoughts are with you, hopefully you will find out something soon...

Robyne, Congrats on the new pg !! So exciting !

I am not saying that Keisha is wrong but my RE said that CD1 is the first day of full flow. He said not to count spotting because that is actually left over from last month's period. I don't know which is right - they all have their own ways of doing things.

Either way, you should try OPK until you figure out your cyle for sure. Hope this helped!
