I had my IUI on February 14th and started progesterone suppositories on the 15th. This morning, I went to my doctor to have my progesterone level checked. They just called and said they would like to see my progesterone level at 20 and it is at 15. I will now do 1 suppository in the morning and 2 at night. They said that at least it is over 10.
Do any of you know anyone who has had any success with low progesterone?
Thanks!
Jeanette

I have a similar question. We put in three bastolcysts on the 16th. The nurse called me today to say that my estrog was 748 and my proges was 29.7. Im not sure what normal is??? Im doing the shots, which I was told should make the prog higher, but cant seem to get any info on this. What is normal/average? Does anyone have any success stories with low numbers?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't understand these things! I wish I knew what the numbers were supposed to be and all that good stuff, but I don't. I guess I need to ask questions the next time I go to the doctor. LOL
I hope someone with knowledge will answer us.
Good luck!
Thanks!

Hi ladies! I'll try to help answer your questions. From what the RE told me, they can tell wether you've ovulated or not based on your progesterone levels. They both stimulate growth of the uterine lining. From what I understand high numbers are good, although you can't tell if your pregnant from these numbers. I do know that in order to maintain a pregnancy the progesterone should be at least 10.
I do know of people that have had low progesterone levels to start, that maintained pregnancy. As long as they rise, there shouldn't be a problem. If they put you on progesteone supplements, that should be good.
My second cycle my estrogen was 407 and progesterone was 29, and I had a bfn. This cycle my estrogen was 837, and progesterone was over 40. I have my beta tomorrow, so we'll find out the results then.
I guess my point is that you can have high numbers and not be pregnant, and you can have low numbers and be pregnant. Good luck to you both!Kelly 31 DH 34

Hi all I had my transfer on the 3/13 and went back for bloodwork on 3/17 which my estradiol level was 397 which they said was good however my progestrone level was at a 13 and they said it was low so they raised the amount of PIO I take in the evening to 1.5 I also take a progestrone suppository in right before I go to bed. The Dr's office said they like to see a progrestrone around 20 or more.
Thanks

At my clinc, they like to see our progesterone level at 20 or above. I had mine done today and mine was 48.5. But like Keleric said you never know. I know someone that had a progesterone level of 15 and she is pregnant. Of course she had to raise the amount.
