Progesterone Supps.&CM?? (slightly tmi)

I am wondering if anyone else using progesterone suppositories is experiencing this:

I am on my fourth night of the supps. and I think I have very dry or no cm at this point. Instead of the suppository slipping in, like it did in the beginning, I have to push it in as it feels like I am very dry.

Is this a result of the progesterone? I don't know if this is a normal symptom at this stage, or if I should be worried that something might be wrong.

Thanks for your input.

Zois

This is my third day using them and everything's been the same. You actually responded to my question on the IUI BB about using them - thanks!

Your message here reminded me of something I read in Taking Charge of Our Fertility by Toni Weschler. It seemed that so many of the sample charts in the book showed dryness during the 2ww in cycles where women were pregnant. I always hope one of these cycles I'll feel really dry in the 2ww, like that's going to mean it's finally happened!

Here's to hoping it's a successful cycle for you!!

Jeanmarie-

I'm glad I was able to help you!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, very few people have been able to provide any info. to my questions on this!

I was specifically concerned about this dryness, I thought it was a bad sign. Your info. has made my day...not that I now believe I am pg, but at least it is not the sign of the opposite!!

Last night it was even worse; I was so dry and "closed up" (that's the best way I can describe the way I felt), that it actually hurt a little to put the suppository in.

I am going to call my RE today and make sure that this is normal. I 'll let you know if I find out anything unusual.

THANKS AGAIN!

P.S. We have a thread called the "good vibrations gang" if you'd like to join in for support. It is on the IUI board, and the other 2 ladies I post with are wonderful women.

Good luck to you!!

Sending sticky vibes your way:stickyvib :stickyvib :stickyvib

Hi Zois,

I am on 6dpo and I did not start to have any discharge until 5dpo. I hope this helps a little. When do you get your beta? I don't get mine until 21st. I am going to ask if I can get it sooner because I don't know how I am going to do this for another week. Did you get hcg trigger? Not to be to personal but my bb's hurt really bad do yours? I am just hoping that I can be pg soooo bad. I am also very scared that I am going to have a big let down. Well keep me posted and let me know how things are going. Good luck!!!!Sending you sticky vibes

Jill

Hi Tina,

Thanks for your message. I'd really like to access your "good vibrations gang" but for some reason I can't find it! I must be searching incorrectly. Can you send me a private message with directions? Boy, I must sound computer illiterate!

I hope your RE eased your mind about what's going on this cycle. I can't help but think, it really could be a good sign!:stickyvib

Hey Jeanmarie!

Sorry, I made a mistake...the name of our thread is: "Wanted IUI Cycle Buddy 12/24" posted by "Princess 123456". Just go to the IUI board of this site and you should find it somewhere on the first page (usually between the middle and the top). I gave you the wrong name, it is the name of a thread on another site I post on!! Sorry again!!

Yes, I did have an hcg shot. I tested w/an hpt and it is out of my system though. My entire protocol was Gonal F, w/hcg, and back to back iuis, followed by Crinone8% suppositories.

I am scheduled to have my beta on the 18th, but I am planning to HPT on the 16th or 17th. I don't feel like this is my month, so I'm not really scared to hpt.

I did speak to my nurse and she said that the dryness is very common with the suppositories. She told me that if it becomes very painful to ask a pharmacist for a safe, mild lubricant to use with it. I don't think it is that bad, so I am going to hold off on that. Yesterday, I did not have difficulty inserting the suppository, and am hoping this will continue!!

Yes...my bb's are killing me. They did alot last cycle too, so I tend not to put alot of faith in that sign, but many women speak of this pain before they have their BFP's, so there is every reason for you to be hopeful, especially if it is not something you have really felt before!

I am sending you tons of babydust and sticky vibes, and hope you can now find us on the iui board!!

Take Care

Tina

Jeanmarie-

Sorry, but I was wondering what hashimotos is? Is your diagnosis female or male factor?

I am sorry to see that the IVFs didn't work out for you and that money ran out...this will be an issue for us if we have to go the IVF route, as we are paying out of pocket for everything.

I also noticed you are in Ohio...I hope you are not in the area where there were severe floods!! Stay dry!!

Hi Tina,

Hashimoto's is a thyroid disease. My antithyroid antibodies were 90, they're supposed to be under 34. Antibodies kill off bad things in your body, too many kill off good things, too, which can inhibit fertilization. I've read about women having antibodies in the thousands and they got pregnant so I'm not totally buying into this as our main factor. My mom and sister have the same disease and both have kids. My dh has very low morphology. RE thinks this is the major factor which is why we went to IVF. They tried to isolate the best swimmers! My fsh is 14 which also indicates low ovarian reserve. I only ended up with 3 mature eggs. RE thinks their quality wasn't great. Who knows. I'm still not giving up. I know this can happen. I'm a big believer in the mind-body connection. Eventually, yes, if all else fails, we'll move on to something else, possibly donor egg. But I feel the need to keep trying with what we've got!

Have you been given a diagnosis? How long have you been ttc?

We live just west of Cleveland, right on Lake Erie and we're suprisingly dry. It's heartbreaking what the people are going through who live near the rivers.

Thanks for your kind words. I hope your 2ww ends soon with a BFP!!

Hey Jean-

We have been in treatment for three months, but have been ttc for four years...I mean we weren't timing as much as just not using protection...but what are the odds that we were always off the mark, right?

We are diagnosed "unexplained infertility". Although I have never had a lap, nor do I believe they have tested my FSH, unless that is just part of the general b/w and I haven't noticed.

This is our third iui, the first with injectibles (gonal f), and I am afraid that we will soon be moving on to our fourth

When is your wait over?

I'm sending you tons of sticky vibes and baby dust!!

Hi Tina,

I'm new to this board, but I've been experiencing the same thing. I'm on my 3rd day of suppositories and tonight it was pretty hard to get in. I kept thinking, "what is the deal? this shouldn't be this hard...it's smaller than my finger!" Anyways, I hope it's like the previous post and I'm pg. I'll find out on the 28th.

Toni
