DirecTv/TiVo vs Comcast DVR???

Ok I need help ASAP!
BTW- this is LONG! Sorry.

We live in PA and b/c of some ongoing problems with our Verizon DSL, we are looking at Comcast's cable modems.

We currently have DirecTv. We have DVR with them but our version is from when DirecTV was hooked up with TiVo. (We have the green background with the little TiVo TV guy at the top right corner.) About a year ago, our Directv/tivo box died, directv was going to replace it with a new one, the R something or other.
OMG I almost thru that receiver out the door the first night. It was the replacement for the directv/Tivo boxes. It was the blue background and it was AWFUL!! Not very user friendly.
You would fast forward thru a commercial and it would jump forward about 15-30 seconds into the show, whereas with the old Tivo version when you pushed play it would play right where it was not jump forward those 15-30 seconds.

Needless to say we sent it back and went on ebay and spent $200 for the old receiver we had, the tivo version. Actually had much bigger hard drive in it.

Soooo, we're looking to go to Comcast cable for the internet service and b/c they are offering us a bundle package (phone, internet, cable for $126/month) vs the $164 we're paying having verizon and directv.

Finally my question-I know get to the point already---

What is Comcast's DVR service like?
Also if anyone has/had Comcast and/or has/had Directv, which service (DVR) do you like better?

I know my odds of finding someone who had both Directv and Comcast DVR services are slim, but I had to throw it out there. Worried that we cancel everything (directv and verizon internet and phone service) to get everything thru Comcast and that I'm going to hate it. And then well I'm screwed.

We unfortunately are big TV watchers, well just at night and absolutely LOVE this version of directv's old tivo. I cannot live without this service, I hate commercials and love being able to watch odd ball programs, found some interesting stuff on History channel at 3AM that now at 10PM I can watch.

If ANYONE can help out and offer advice (other than turn off the TV and read a book LOL- BTW,I do read lots), I would VERY much appreciate it.
I did try to search it online and well not finding the answers I'm looking for.

TIA,
Melissa

we have comcast and have only had comcast so i can only comment on that
you can record two shows at once but if you do then you can not watch anything else. you can set up series record which is nice so you do not have to remember to record your show every week, especially since you can choose to only record new shows so you do not get repeats.
it has the pause during the normal show which is nice if you have to get dinner, etc.
i do not notice the problem with skipping forward that you mention. if we fast forward too far it has a replay option which backs it up about 10-15 seconds so that usually takes care of that problem.
hth some
