Catholic hospitals will only allow surgery to remove tubes if there is an emergency room ectopic pregnancy - otherwise you have to go to another hospital. I have a specialist I see who told me that in order to keep the practice at the Catholic hospital doctors have to sign a document saying they will not practice any kind of contraceptive medicine in any circumstance. (They will get into big trouble if they allow a woman to die from an ectopic pregnancy.) Personally, I do not believe that a religious institution that refuses a treatment should be allowed to own hospitals.

I have frequented this board in the past, but it is so slow moving that I tend to hang out on the other board more. :-)
My experience has been that those OB/GYNs in practice around here, have long waiting lists for even a single appointment - at least 2 months. And I do not have the time to wait.
I had a bad experience with the support staff at a local clinic - the doctor I was seeing is fine - but the support staff cost us thousands of dollars due to their incompetence. So, I'm not really all that keen on using a local doctor I have no relationship with to do this kind of procedure.
