Adoption in process after IF

Hi, I have been working on adoption simultaneously with IVF, and have just been matched to a birth mom due the end of this month - YIKES! I am still in a little shock, and unbelievably excited. We have lots to do to get ready as we just moved and I started a new job with LONG hours, so life has a way of getting ahead of me in general and this is no exception - as impatient as I have been at the length of time it's all taken, it still appears to be too soon in one way. We can't wait, of course!

We're hoping to be at the birth, there's an issue with the sperm donor being MIA and so we will need to wait 45 days for his rights to terminate before we can have the baby with us. Two weeks until the birth

We are adopting a little aa child, we're caucasian - lots of stuff to learn!

I just wanted to say hello and CONGRATULATIONS! Please keep us posted.

BTW - we have a dd 3 1/2 and a ds 7 mths - both semi-open domestic adoptions, both biracial, and we were present with both at birth!

Thanks so much for the welcome! We are very excited, we think the birth will be this weekend, but she's in Texas and there is a hurricane very possibly coming, so we're having to play it by ear as far as travel goes - just a little added drama!

So many thoughts are racing through my mind it's hard to work - but it's only a few more days, I think. BM had contractions on Sunday which they stopped, trying to make it to 38 weeks, which will be this weekend. I'm buckling my seatbelt and getting ready for a wild ride!

I'll keep you updated,
Teresa

Hi! We are now on the new schedule, C/S due tomorrow - less than 24 hours!

The dating wasn't certain since it was first done by u/s 3rd trimester, so the lungs turned out to be premature last week, and her labor did stop. We were actually all set for the C/S last week, she was prepped and we were waiting with her in pre-op, but the amnio results came back premature. I did get to feel the baby kick, which was awesome.

We expect to have the baby home with us 2 days after the birth if all goes as planned - I am trying not to worry about all the things that can go wrong, can't wait until I get the baby home and settled in to somewhat of a routine.

Please excuse the board barge, but I had to come looking for you this morning, Teresa, as I woke up in the middle of last night thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. After a little searching, I was glad to find your update from Tuesday. I hope all goes well and that you have your little one in your arms as I am writing this.
All my love and prayers,
Robin

Can't wait to hear your update! We are CC and our son is Hispanic. We met his birthmom at the hospital and witnessed his birth. I don't know exactly where you are in the South, but we are from Georgia - we're just in PA temporarily.
