Hello,
I found something great to share with you. This weekend I was googling some infertility links (as usual).
I found a kit online at conceptionkit.com. It features a new concept for conceiving using a cervical cap. The basics are, you and DH have intercourse with semen collection condom, take semen and pour it into cap, place cap onto cervix (it kind of suctions on and stays in) and that is the gist of it.
Upon researching further I found a clinical trial for this conception kit. Below is a link to the Forbes article that came out yesterday. It is a legitimate clinical trial and the products are FDA approved. They do want you to fill out a questionnaire and try the kit once that is it. You get the entire $499 kit free and they only ask that you try it for one month. The kit contains three months worth of: OPK, HPTs, 3 semen collection condoms and 3 cervical caps.
This morning (June 6) I spoke with one of the lead physicians and told him of my friends at Fertile Thoughts and asked if he needed more participants. He said yes, but you all might want to hurry as the local ABC news picked up the press release and are doing a huge story on this trial and that they are recruiting for it. He said he is certain that ABC at the national morning and evening news level will pick up the story too and then there will not be anymore openings.
I asked if we have permission to do this while on follicle stimulating drugs and he said yes, the main point of this study is NOT to see if people get pregnant on this kit, but to see if we can understand the directions. They are tweaking the directions so that they are foolproof.
The coordinator's info is Michael LaVean, in your re: line tell him you heard of it through Heather and the clinical trial reference # is NCT0032665
Michael's e-mail is: lavean@hotmail.com
Also, I am in no way compensated financially or otherwise for sharing this with you. Just wanted you to know about something great I'm going to try on my next cycle while we take a one month rest financially.
Sincerely,
heather
