So, who's around? How are the skids? how's the eo, still an eo?
At the advice of her mom my sd (18) dropped out of college after 4 weeks, no refund on the $1k that was paid. She moved out of the house, got kicked out of her place with her roomates, moved in with her boyfriend, went from having no money to having enough to get tattoos on her neck and her ear pierced, and then moved in with her mom. All in less than 2 months time. That girl has more drama than FT!!! I'm glad she's gone, because I hope she gets her life in order and I think she'll be around enough relatives who will kick her to be a better person. Plus, she won't be around us to rebel. I also hope her mother figures out how to be a mother instead of some la la land buddy friend. I think it will be a good experience for both sd and eo to live together. I hope they're both closer from it. So my life is very peaceful, not full of drama. My boys are 3 and 9, and doing great! My dh still has a job, which I am very thankful for. I am teaching family literacy for the community college and I love it!! I won't have it next fall (it's a grant position) which is a huge bummer. We're staying home for christmas. I have surgery on the 18th. I have a mass on my ovary, fluid in the back of my pelvis, and I'm sure my stage 3 endometriosis is now stage 4 endometriosis!!! My dr. thinks I'm too young for a hysterectomy. I'm hoping I can make it to my mid 40s before we come to that bridge!!! I'm 36 now, so 9 more years....
So, is anyone brave enough to post? How is everyone???????
Come on!!!!!!!!!!!! We're going to be at e-harmony soon and I most likely won't be there!!!

Hi there! It's been awhile since I've posted as "davesgirl"--I just left it "trainerlady" after I left my dh then got back together with him!
We're now living in Germany; I accepted a position with the AF at a base here. We are LOVING it! My oldest sd turned 18 in May of 08, graduated high school in June, changed her last name to her step-dad and her mom's last name, and joined the Marines. She is now stationed in California and we have not talked to her since she changed her name. She's taking care of herself and she's out of her mother's house, so hopefully things will go well now for her. My ss (17) did NOT want to come with us to Germany--wanted to live with the EO, so we let him. Not even a month later, he was on an airplane with us to Germany. They had a MAJOR falling out! My ss and my youngest sd were supposed to go see her for Christmas but neither one wanted to. They mostly say it's the step-father; so anyway, we've been enjoying touring around Germany and are closer as a family now. Vegas was not helping the situation at all--we weren't home enough and my ss had too much freedom.
My ss is more than welcome to stay here as long as he wants--he turns 18 in July but has another year of school. After that, we'll see. My sd (14) wants to live with us forever, so we're not worried about her. My twins, K&B who will be 7 (YES SEVEN!!) are doing well. So, that is my update............hope everyone had a great Holiday!!!

Update!!
Thought I would pop in.... as step issues are big right now, and I was happy to see some updates on here! Stacy and Nicole, thanks for getting the ball rolling. It is amazing to see how much time has gone by when seeing the ages and stages of our kiddos. Nicole, it was shocking to see your SD is 18 and moved out and Stacy you have an 18 year old too! I can't wait till my SDs turn 18!! They both have lived permanently with us for a few years (as compared to a more even share when they were little) and it has been SOOO hard! Basically, we seem to be the only people who can deal with them, but it is really really difficult. Our boys are all growing up quick!! My son is 5 and the light of my life!
Since some of us still pop in, I think it would be interesting to start a post on how stepparenting turned out different than we expected and maybe advise for those new to Stepparenting and IF. What do you think??? Maybe a legacy for us who have been in and out of FT for a long time...(like 10 years almost for me!!!)
I would love to see the thoughts of my friends here!!
Hope you all are well. I still think of you often :-).
Anne
