Just thinking about you! I had to teach a CPR/First Aid course this past week and when we went over burns, I thought of you dh. Ouch. Hope he's still continuing to be on the road to recovery.
Thinking of you,
Stacy

Well dh is nearly healed as far as most of the burns go.
He has to wrap one finger still bc there is more fluid than skin present, but it looks promising that skin will continue to grow there too. The new skin is all pink and smooth as silk- no wrinkling like you'd assume in 2nd degree burns.
Even the parts with 3rd degree are fairly flat and small, so I guess the bandages and sulfa have been wonders for it.
He is to keep the new skin open at night so the air will de-tenderize it. It is very sensitive and he is to keep it away from light, heat and cold for however long it takes to stop being sensitive to that, but air is the first step.
He has resumed some use of it, al;though he has no strength. I think he is pushing too hard actually bc to use it causes him great pain, but...stubborn man...sick of being incompetant.
He is off the pain killers too for the most part. He sees the surgeon in one week where I think he will get a good report and know for sure if any grafting will be needed for the last finger wrapped.
The nurse discharged him from home visits a few days ago and said she believed he will only suffer a mild color variation.
Yeah...little does she know that will not happen. Tar happens to make ALL skin, old or new, the same color, so I am not worried about it staying pink too long-lol, but the hot might hurt alot next year and the cold might hurt alot this winter.
Do you think compensation would send us to a mildly tropical country for the winter???
lol
Well, it is looking good. Time will tell how it feels in the end.
That is it for his burn update. I will do a final when he is discharged completely and can back to work, but it is all looking good, and the pain, when not in use, is getting so much more bearable.
Thanks for all the concerns.Sym
