Psychics & Spiritual Healers - Do you believe in them?

Hello everyone

I just wondered whether anyone really believes in psychics, spiritual healers, astrologers, etc? Have you had any definite "proof" that whatever they said, has "come to be"

I have been to some previously, but all out of pure curiosity - sheer fun really. I cannot say that I can identify anything that really stands out as being true regarding what they said.

I have been going through some fairly emotional stuff recently, and I guess, through desperation I made an appointment with a psychic for Saturday morning.
But I got up this morning, and figured that even if my life is going "in a confused orbit", how will a complete stranger be able to help me?
I know myself, and at the end of the day, we are all responsible for our own happiness...we are the architects of our own destiny...right?? I sure hope so, cos I called and cancelled this morning!

Just curious about how you guys feel!

I think there are some psychics that are genuine, and I also think that many/most are simply excellent readers of our own body language & needs, and are a type of therapist. Telling you what you need to hear is sometimes easier to believe when it's coming from a stranger.

I say anything that helps can't hurt too much (ha! how's that for a double-talking sentence!). If you want to see for yourself, see for yourself....don't beat yourself up for trying to find a release for pain & doubt.

I think it is a "gift" in the same way that some ppl are gifted in music, art, math, etc. I personally know someone who "sees dead ppl" and is very intuitive. I think a lot of it is like previously stated, a gift to read ppl's body & verbal language very well. I also think there's a lot of ppl that are scammers, so it makes it hard to know the difference. I also knew a lady that did reiki or the focused energy of the laying of hands at the place where I went to get massages. Honestly, I could "feel" it, it was wild. She was the sweetest kindest most humble person that simply has the gift of "healing hands". I've has other ppl attempt to do what they thought was "reiki" and they were not as gifted as she was.
Now, astrology, tarot, rocks and such, I just don't have much experience w/ that stuff and I don't have much confidence in them. I read my horoscope in the paper for fun, usually the day after, just to see if anything was "Right", but I think they're generally pretty vague and could apply to most anyone. Like I said, I don't have a lot of experience w/ that stuff and view it w/ caution coz somehow I don't feel "right" about using it, like I'm compromising my faith or something. I used to think of psychic stuff that way until I met this person that has that gift and she is not evil, she believes in God, so I've come to feel that is a gift from God for her to help ppl - and she has.

I believe that there are some psychics who are gifted and genuine and some that are scammers! I personally went to a psychic back in 1994 and the majority of it came true. Some of it was general like a car accident...which most people eventually will have even if it is a fender bender..and yes I did have a 2 accidents..and he told me that I would have a m/c which I did in 1997. But the most amazing thing he told me was (i was married to my 1st husband at the time) that my marriage would not last and that I would not divorce or seperate, but thru God I would gain strenght from it! Well, my Dh died in Dec. of 1998 from cancer. At the time of the reading I did not think much about it and took everything he said with a grain of salt and I put the tape away. I did listen to the tape a few months after his passing and thought OMG! At the time of the reading I did not fully understand everything he was saying. And he did tell me that I would marry again..which I have. So this is my proof.(i still have the tape) I also have an aunt who is Italian and she reads palms and tea leaves. She has always been right. She was right with me getting married again. I have also been to psychic partys which alot of the things said were too general. But just remember take it with a grain of salt..I went with a friend once and she obsessed over a reading she had and nothing came true. I would go and just do it for FUN! As long as it doesn't cost too much $$ LOL. Not unless you went to someone who was legit. If you decide to go in the future just have fun with it!

I think we are all healed fromn within.. perhaps these people can give us more inner strength.. just as anantibiotic helps the body heal. As for psychics..I cannot believe that they have real power.. but the ones who seem to see crime scenes and help find missing people - therin lies the conflict with me.. How DO they do that if not for some power? And where does that power come from? I'd like to believe that if it is used for good it comes from God and if it is used for Evil it comes from Satan.. I'll have to look for scripture on that..

Some are very genuine and gifted. There is a local Tarol reader who reads about three months ahead; she is amazing. She sees major "moments" - upcoming arguments or reconciliations for example, as well as underlying causes of emotional situations. I saw her on 10/13 and cannot count the times I have played that 1/2 hour tape in the ensuing two months. It is proving very helpful - and accurate - with regards to my own personal situation.

Some are fakes. You either luck into good ones, or get good referrals.

I have been to three or four. One of them was incredibly dead on. The things she said were very specific and quite controversial and totally right.

No=one mentioned a spiritual healer yet, so I will just answer that part.
My father-in-law laid his hand on mine when we 1st met. He said.."There is pain here, right?" and shocked, I nodded a yes. I thought he was a little weird, but I was trying to be polite, so I just sat there. A few minutes passed, and he said "There you go." and I forgot about it till I had the pain in my hand again............months later!
Previously, I'd had it daily, so now when I see him, I just ask him to do whatever it is he does if I have any large pains.
Dh says he absorbs the pain and he feels it himself, which makes it difficult to do often, so I only ask when it is big enough to ask that of him. I don't ask how. I just respect that, that is his gift and he offered it to me.

That is so interesting. I used to get "reiki" or the healing by hands by a lady when I would go get a massage. I kinda thought ok, kinda wierd is this a bunch of hooey or not? But, I swear I could "feel" energy from her, like tingle - and my eyes were shut, so I didn't always know where she had her hands - her hands were above you , not touching. She said she had always had this gift, and that it didn't hurt her, it actually energized her???
Anyway, she doesn't work there anymore, But I always thought it was neat.

I'm sure with all people and all gifts, it varies. Maybe there is a skill level to it, and by not having to touch, you have a higher skill level or just more experience?
And maybe the energy she feels is like rewarding from taking away someones pain? I'm not sure, as I said, I just let him do it and it works
