Responding to those who may not understand the path you have chosen...

How do you respond to friends or family members who question, criticize, or misunderstand your spiritual path?

Great question!

For questions, I respond with answers and sometimes those answers are questions back at them. I have often been questioned by my family (who are, for the most part, practicing Catholic.) I am more open with my answers to them than I would be to others. I work in a very diverse company, with Muslim, Morman and Hindi folks aplenty. I find that seeking to understand their faith leads to great conversation and a better understanding for them.
For criticism, I respond with a smile- although, short of the above mentioned family, I cannot say that I've ever been really criticized.
For misunderstanding, I think the best response is example. Those who misunderstand are not the same as those who ask questions.
