I know this thread doesn't see much action, but I wanted to let you know that I just had my embryo transfer today, so I'm in the 2ww. I'm not the most patient person, so this is going to be hard!

It's a BFN for me. Now I have to decide whether I'm up for another IVF, or if I want to move to adoption.

    Hello All,

I'm trying to become a single mom by choice. I had a miscarriage last week at 9 weeks, followed by D&C, and I'm still reeling from the experience. I plan to try again, but I don't know when I'll be up to the task emotionally...anyone else out there dealing with a miscarriage right now?

    m/c mentioned

    Hi Nikki!

I'm sorry your lost your baby. Hugs.

My first m/c devastated me. (discovered at my 12 week appt). Including chemicals, I've now had five losses. What kept me going was my strong desire to have the family I dreamed of. (well, not quite there yet, but still working on it.)

Posting on the ttc after a loss board helped tremendously too. If age is a factor pushing you, like it was me, it is also ok to be still grieving while you are ttc and/or pregnant.

    Take care!

    Domestic Adoption

Hello all - this board isn't very active, but I thought I'd post an update and see if we can get things rolling. I've decided to adopt instead of riding the ttc train any longer. I just can't take the meds, appointments and dissappointments any more.

I'm super excited about the prospect of adopting! I finally feel like I have some small measure of control in the process. I really didn't have any problem making the switch to adoption since it was always something I was interested in; I just figured I would adopt #2 after I had a biological child. My goal was always to be a mom, not to be pregnant, so I didn't have any huge emotional hurdles to oversome. I'm sure I will have pangs of disappointment now and again, but nothing I can't handle.

Anybody else out there care to post an update?

    Lori,
Congrats on your choice to adopt! I'm always so proud to hear women talk about adoption as an alternative.
I'm a future single mom by choice. I just had my first donor IUI 12 days ago.
I too made a decision a long time ago that I wanted one biological child and at least one adopted. Adoption has always been part of the plan whether I conceive or not... though I do hope to have that opportunity. I'm brand new to this website too.
I'm 32 with endometriosis and facing a hysterectomy. I was told "now or never"... so I chose NOW.
The 2ww has been a rollercoaster...

Hi Charity - welcome to the board. I hope by now you have found out that you have a BFP!

As for me, I have my intake interview with my agency tomorrow afternoon. After that, it's a huge stack of paperwork for me to get the homestudy process rolling. I've done all of the required training, so I expect to be officially "waiting" in a few months.
