Hope everyone is able to relax and enjoy!
The man I'm seeing, Dave, is coming over tonight after the kids are in bed. (He hasn't met them yet.) Tomorrow, I have a babysitter lined up for a couple of hours so we can go out to dinner. He'll be out of town for the following two weekends, but I have big plans lined up for those. The first weekend, I'm going to visit my late dh's brother, wife, and son, who live about 5 hours away. I don't have much contact with his side of the family anymore (I really tried, and although they all seem to like me, they're so dysfunctional that no one stays in touch), so this is a big step for me. I really like them, though, so I'm hoping it'll be a good weekend. The following weekend, I might be meeting with one of Alyssa's donor half-siblings in person! (Both girls are from donor sperm, though different donors.) We have been in contact through the Donor Registry website, and I'm excited about that possibility!

I took the girls to Calgary & we went to Heritage Park) full of old houses/buildings from bygone eras. They had a blast. Went with SIL as my brother decided at the last minute her was too busy to come. Went to their place for super Firday night & my mom called from a city about 2 hours north of there.. to say my g-ma (whom she went to visit) likely only has a few weeks/mos left & had been saying for two days how she wanted to see me & the girls b/c she figures she's not got much time left. (She's on continuous oxygen, has internal bleeding from her liver & maybe somewhere else but surgery would kill her). So, J & E gave me a spare toothbrush from their stash & we went up there for the night & came home Sat evening. It was nice to see my g-ma again but she's getting so frail.

Tuesday we'll go to Banff with my parents for a few days.. it's only maybe a 3.5 hour drive from us.Kristin single mom to
